Can anyone please comment about the room outlets? Do passengers need adaptors to convert to the standard United States outlets?  Thanks.

On every Carnival ship I've been on (including a couple Spirit Class) there's one regular "American" 120 VAC outlet, one 240 VAC outlet, and on rare occasion USB charging ports in the lamps (but don't count on that).

I bought an adapter to give us two places to plug in to, but just beware that most "adapters" still put out 240 Volts.  If you plug something in that can't take that voltage you'll very quickly let all the smoke out.

We are on the Spirit for it's Panama Canal transit in April 2022.  They switched the ship from Freedom to Spirit last month.  It has been kind of a mess waiting on cabin assignments & port changes.  Normally we like the spirit class for easy navigation.  But we are a bit worried about the ship's condition- isn't it an older ship?  And if they have just started sailing it out of USA recently, is crew up to par on what we have come to expect?  Hopefully by April they will have the kinks worked out, if not we will have 16, most are sea days, of disappointment.  It bothers me that Carnival can just up & change our ship, our cabin, our ports- expecting us to just accept what they give us- this was not an inexpensive cruise for us.  When asked if we could cancel, were told we would lose all OBC from a pandemic cancellation.  I have come to expect better from CCL- time to find a new cruiseline.

Do they have the shows up and running? I know in a previous post the person said they could hear them practicing, but they didn't have any shows during their cruise.

We're boarding Spirit in a couple of hours.  I received an email from Carnival last week indicating that there wouldn't be any Playlist Productions shows on this cruise but that they had booked alternative entertainment.

I'm actually beginning to realize that's a positive for us.  This will be our fifth cruise post-startup and we've already seen most of the shows since so many of them are common across multiple ships.

Thanks I haven't received an email yet, but we don't cruise until the 31st. I have never been on Carnival. I have cruised RCC twice and really like the shows, so I was bummed when I read that they were practicing.

If you have any updates after your cruise we would love to hear them!

At the end of the first day on Spirit I'll say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the condition of the ship (she recently came out of dry dock), she's in really nice shape including a lot of new carpet etc.

The first meal in the dining room was excellent and our wait team did a bang up job.

There aren't any Playlist Shows on the schedule for the theatre this week, instead there are a couple of shows with comedic magicians etc.  I'm fine with that because I've been on so many cruises in the past few months that most of them are repeats anyway.  We're also going to catch some movies by the pool, something we've never taken the time to do before.

ALSO, the electrical outlets are a bit different on Spirit than any other Carnival ship I've been on.  There's a single 120 VAC outlet (as expected) and instead of a single 240 VAC European style outlet (which I was expecting and have an adapter for) there's a single 240 VAC Australian style outlet (which is useless to me since I don't have the proper adapter).  Maybe I should have known since Spirit used to live in Australia.

I just noticed on our hub app that we'll have a Playlist show on Friday, the final night of this cruise.  This will be my first time seeing a maiden show.  😀

Just back this morning from our March 26 Spirit cruise. Had a wonderful time. The most impressive thing, table cloths in the MDR every night and in the Steakhouse! The crew was fantastic, very friendly as always. The casino was divided by the walkway thru it, non smoking on one side and smoking on the other. Hardly noticed any smoke!

more later, getting off now.

I have to say the Embarkation and debarkation process in Jacksonville was really bad! They’ve had enough cruises out of Jax now that they should have everything down pat by now! Verifly was a joke, some didn’t even know what I was talking about! 2 groups in our party had no problems, but the other couple and us did. We had a trainee, so that made it worse! Debark went pretty smooth off the ship, but Coming into the terminal the lady directed us to Customs if we had passport. Was actually talking to customs agent when we heard someone ask about luggage. We had to get out of line, go back through the crowd to where the luggage was, get it and a porter then go back thru the customs line. They do not have facial recognition in Jacksonville so had to go thru customs.
Was a little disappointed in the steakhouse. Our waiter was not very nice, I think they were short staffed and it took a bit longer than usual to get everything. One of the group got the Wagu beef, said it was a bit tough when he was asked how it was. The waiter said well, it’s just a flat iron steak, certainly not a filet which would be better! Then as dessert was served, one asked for a to go, and he said just eat what you can! He never did give her the plate to go, but one of the waitresses came by and she did.

The entertainment was so so, no shows till last night, then Epic Rock. The entertainment shows were variety, one was Harriet and can’t remember last name, but she was a really good singer.

oh, and hardly anyone was masked, which is fine, but you still have to wear getting on and off the ship.

First time for me to buy internet, I won’t waste my money on that again. Purchased the value package, hardly got to use it except around 6 in the morning and was still slow or not usable at all.
