with a SR on Starboard or Portside, you have no idea what it will face. The pierside or opposite. And in Europe, many of the piers for cruise ships are well within the port area and you’ll have ‘views’ either side. But not For Sure.

As to Stern, again depends on how the ship is tied up to the pier and ‘facing’ which way.

Deciding on what ‘side’ or if stern will give you a better view during a port call is not predictable. But a Stern may give you the ability to see either side a bit.

enjoy!

Ah, thank you! Ugh! Not sure what to do, lol! We love aft, but this is first time on a European cruise. So we're thinking about the view, whether while sailing or while in port.

The view, IMHO, is the wake and everything that goes with it. You certainly are not going to stay onboard when the ship is in port, so what ships are birthed should not make a difference.  There are nice views all over the ship, but my favorite is the view of the wake when the ship is sailing.  I have been to all of your ports with a wake view/suite.  SV will be next May for most of the same ports.  It is a longer walk, but so worth it!
