sanmarcosman Posted June 24, 2022 #252 Share Posted June 24, 2022 When these first came into use they were a series of various American cities. I recall Seattle, New York and New Orleans were in the mix. Maybe all that's left are the Hollywood plates no one wanted to lift. 🙂

Rare TxTeach79 Posted June 24, 2022 Author #257 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Ship nerd alert: I had a lot of fun standing with some folks watching them “reel” the lifeboats back in. I’m not certain I’ve ever watched this process in all my cruises prior. Very cool!

Rare TxTeach79 Posted June 24, 2022 Author #259 Share Posted June 24, 2022 So to get out of the Juneau harbor, we had to pull a full 180…. So I got these unusual perspectives of us pointing directly at each of the other ships, as if a very unfortunate nautical t-bone was about to go down…. 1

Rare TxTeach79 Posted June 24, 2022 Author #262 Share Posted June 24, 2022 It looks like this elevator girl really has to pee. see, the ‘vators are pretty darn big! Not 18 people big, but big for a ship with 2k pax!

pcvtmom Posted June 24, 2022 #264 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Exceptional review! I love your commentary and photos. I never thought I'd want to do the Alaska route, but you're convincing me otherwise... 1

Rare TxTeach79 Posted June 24, 2022 Author #266 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Back to see Mr. Lucky while B gets ready for the evening…. But it took us a little longer than I thought to hit international waters, so we’ll delay the party for now…

Rare TxTeach79 Posted June 24, 2022 Author #269 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Watched the trio while I finished my drink, then it was off to the lobby to watch Bri Zee go for a bit. I’m telling you, this ship had as many or more live music options than much larger ships. It was everywhere all the time. that guitar tho!

Rare TxTeach79 Posted June 24, 2022 Author #271 Share Posted June 24, 2022 a nice little Buffalo Trace they swapped out the 50th banner for an American flag for flag day…. Gotta be honest; didn’t realize it was flag day! I was even wearing a polo with American flags all over it and people were complimenting it real hard all day- had no idea why! Total coincidence!

Even better if there was a prize for finding them all, even just a sticker. 3

CruiseMGM Posted June 24, 2022 #274 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Love the review, the pictures and the humor. Happy you're having a great time. We'll be on the Spirit in August, with stops in Juneau and Ketchikan, and I'm already taking notes on where we want to wander. I printed up a map of downtown Juneau and marked the Triangle Club and Deckhand Dave's, can't wait to try them! Best wishes!
