NCL Introduces new "Free At Sea Plus" Packages

Still surprised this isn't advertised anywhere by NCL...

Really odd.  The only thing I can think of is that it's a sort of "soft opening."  I heard about it in this thread and immediately called to sign up.  For me, since I always get Premium Plus, Internet, and Specialty Dining anyway, it makes a lot of sense.

I saw about it on  fb group. Heck, the person I called wasn't even aware of it yet!

I called after seeing it here and on fb. I had already purchased the upgraded beverage and wifi packages. Changing to this package upgrade saved me $123, and I get two extra specialty dining nights! So for my 7 day it was definitely worth it.

Has anyone gotten a refund on shore excursions for the 2nd person?

I just called and talked to NCL, and they asked their supervisor, and they told me that I would NOT receive a refund on the 2nd person's shore excursions.

Wondering if this is just new and I need to hang up, call again.

No wonder NCL reduced the Free at Sea three specialty dining meals to two meals.  It obviously wasn't to reduce overcrowding and and make more traditional dining times available for more people; it was highly likely done to free up space for this promo.  I wonder if this is also a partial reason why NCL removed the free wifi minutes from higher level Latitude members . . . .

In October 2021 we had an 11-night Greek Isles cruise booked (we rescheduled, but that was less than 1 year ago!) that included FIVE specialty dinners when we booked!!!

Next month we are going on the rescheduled, 10-night Greek Isle cruise and we are only getting THREE specialty dinners because NCL has cut back on amenities so much (meanwhile, raising prices significantly!)

This week I booked a 10-night British Isles cruise for summer of 2023 and it’s now down to only TWO specialty dinners for our balcony cabin and only ONE for our kids inside cabin - on a 10-night cruise!!!

Just booked for my TA on Epic.

Was anyway getting Drinks package upgrade + 2 specialty dining and upgrade to unlimited internet. Previously those would have been 787 euros for me. With Free at Sea Plus 585 euros. Easy choice. 🙂

I agree.  I was planning on upgrading the wifi and the drink package on our 7 day cruise and I think this will be perfect for us. Just need to see the Canadian $ conversion 🙂

same with us 😄 but some how our TA's " office "  got soda packages for the 2 teenagers added in and we have ended up with 5 specialty dinning EACH 🤫  will double check with TA when she's back in office , but did a quick check on " promo codes " on reservation and it's all there

So, as I mentioned, I signed up for a cruise in a few weeks.  I'd already purchased a couple extra nights of specialty dining.

I did receive an updated confirmation and Amenity Confirmation, but on the website summary it appears as though I've done nothing:  I could buy a dining package, Premium Plus, Unlimited Internet, etc.

Whatever, this clearly seems to be a soft launch.  I'm glad I got it now because the hold wait times are already long enough and when this is widely publicized it may get worse

Why can't you just cancel and rebook the excursions?

on my updated confirmation there is a list of " promo codes " in the top left corner , everything " PLUS " and all my TA add ons are all shown there , when I go to " Upgrades " on my NCL page reservation it states all up grades have been purchased , BUT it will allow me to purchase a second soda package for the teens on our reservation 😂

It’s too early to tell, but I suspect that if you don’t get a refund beforehand then they will sort it out onboard. It would be refunded as OBC though, which may not be ideal.

7 night cruise.

$686.00

Drink upgrade(wife may never go back)

Internet for 2

2 more meals(4)

$487.20

$219.86

$141.60

total

$848.99

Without using shore credit!

100 night cruise? MAYBE NOT!

A couple years ago this would not be worth it, but prices are going up everywhere.

My next cruise is still cheaper then the one in 2017.

Yeah, we're in the Haven, I'm half tempted to do it and let the Haven concierge deal with it. Agreed on OBC, though I can always spend an extra $250 on fancy wine if I have to 😂

I'm an agent as well and just asked them to add the Free at Sea Plus to my booking. They should be able to do it that simply; however, I just looked at my invoice. The one I can see it may be is FASUP.

I also got FASUP added to mine this morning, so I think that's the code.

For anyone following my saga with my already booked 5 shore excursions:  I did the hang up, call again strategy twice more this morning.  Got through to someone at Casinos at Sea that knew what they were doing.  The Casinos at Sea department had me talk to Shore Excursions after I upgraded for my refund.

Shore Excursions looked at my account, and confirmed refunds started automatically processing!  Sounds like everyone with shore excursions already booked can go ahead and upgrade without issues.

NCL recently changed several benefits to their Latitudes program.  They are no longer giving free internet.  Instead Platinum members gets a 15% discount, Sapphire 20% and Diamond 25%.  😡

I tried to add this on to our November sailing but was told that as we are past final payment, they were unable to add it. They could see it but it was greyed out. 😔

From the comments on this thread I’m quite sure that others have managed to add it after final payment.
