No one-way TA’s in early 2023?

We are looking at flying to the UK to meet our family from France and then taking the QM2 back to NY, but I am seeing only round trips around the dates we need. Is this something new? Will one-ways likely become available? Any advice is welcome.

These are the three westbound crossings on QM2's schedule for the first half of 2023.

April 23-30, 2023: Sold out

May 18-26, 2023: Available (8 nights via Le Havre)

June 23-30, 2023: Available

As @Tonopah has mentioned, keep in mind QM2 is scheduled to be on her 2023 world voyage for most of early 2023. The sold out April 23 crossing is the final segment of QM2's 2023 world voyage ending in New York.

That April 23 crossing is still available when purchased as part of a complete April 23-May 7 roundtrip crossing starting and ending in Southampton which may be what you are seeing. The April 30-May 7 eastbound crossing is available to book separately. However, the April 23-30 westbound crossing is currently showing as sold out.

I'm seeing plenty of availability for that April 23-May 7 roundtrip crossing, so it is quite possible Cunard could release cabins for just the April 23-30 westbound crossing at a later date.

Thanks so much! I’ll keep checking.

I've noticed the April 23-30, 2023 westbound crossing is showing availability today. I'm seeing pretty good availability for Inside, Sheltered Balcony and Britannia Club.

I have a sense that there are progressively fewer TA crossings. My information isn't very reliable (only being tracking a few years) but my sense is that in recent years there are more gaps in the usual back and forth in mid summer and perhaps later start and earlier end. Probably has to do with money and demand.

I'm sure @bluemarblewill be along soon to confirm crossings per year, he's our expert.

QM2 Crossings Per Year

2004 = 15

2005 = 26

2006 = 20

2007 = 23

2008 = 24

2009 = 23

2010 = 21

2011 = 21

2012 = 20

2013 = 18

2014 = 18

2015 = 22

2016 = 21

2017 = 24

2018 = 24

2019 = 24

2020 = 1

2021 = 1

2022 = 26

2023 = 18

For obvious reasons, QM2 crossings were severely curtailed during 2020/2021.

There's an uptick in crossings for 2022. That's due in large part to the crossings included in the early 2022 Caribbean cruises which replaced QM2's canceled 2022 World Voyage.

There is a significant drop off in the number of crossings scheduled for 2023. Some (but by no means all) of that reduction can be attributed to the gap in QM2's schedule between October 22, 2023 and November 16, 2023 which appears to be another drydock/refit. For 2023 crossings, it looks like it's back to levels comparable to ten years ago during 2013/2014.

Stay tuned for the 2024 crossings count when it becomes available in a few months with the announcement of the remainder of the 2024 schedule.

Thanks! I was going to mention she is due for a dry dock in 2023 - the abbreviated one last year was to get her reactivated for service. This will be a proper refurbishment and likely a decor scheme change as they do those every other refit.
