Trip Insurance - Got The Check!

We purchased trip insurance through Steve@tripinsurancestore. From his recommendations we selected a Travel Guard (part of AIG) policy. Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to check out the claim process and customer service due to contracting Covid somewhere in Spain. I’m happy to report a full resolution to the missed cruise days! The process took almost seven weeks from claim submittal to check received, but as I understand it, the companies are inundated with claims, so I’m very pleased with the timing. Not so happily, my claim for missed private excursions in Bordeaux was not covered, but I submitted a claim with the credit card insurance company, so we shall see.

Was the cost of the private excursions included in your overall/total trip cost to determine the premium amount due to cover all of your nonrefundable & prepaid expenses?

@Kwaj girl, no it wasn’t. I didn’t even pay for it until after passing the Covid test to board the ship. We had a B2B, and these tours were for the second leg. I’m hopeful the credit card insurance will cover.

Second both Steve and Travelguard.   We got our money back from a defunct Crystal cruise due to bankruptcy.   Also about 7 weeks.

Was it for a period in which you were quarantined on the ship, or for other expenses/losses associated with having covid?

It was for the 6 days I was in isolation. There were no other expenses.

How about the doctor bill from cruise?  Cruise medical bills are usually huge from our experience.

Unless you take the Covid antiviral medication, medical care and Covid testing are complimentary.

Yes, @DaveFr is correct. Early June, there was no Paxlovid on board, and all the other attention from the medical team was complementary.

Same experience on the Splendor in July.  Charged for the medication and nothing else.  Good treatment received from Regent.

Same experience on Navigator, July/August. Charge for Paxlovid only medical fee. Husband and I received excellent care.
