Upper Suite Benefits

I have no idea why the shoreside concierge asked for the quantity of luggage or estimated arrival time.  When I travel in on of the upper category suites, this seems like useless information.

We just finished a B2B of 14 days total.  We had breakfast in Luminae for 11 days.  All days except the three that we enjoyed room service breakfast.  By far breakfast our favorite meal in Luminae. Just an overall excellent breakfast experience.

We had no lunches in Luminae.  The Silhouette has the Porch and Lawn Grill, which is nice for an occasional lunch.

We dined a lot in the Speciality Dining, since it was included with our cabin category.  We dined four times in Murano’s. It is our favorite restaurant and we missed it on our last Apex cruise.  Also twice in Tuscan.

We did enjoy the Luminae for dinner.  We enjoy it more on the S class, because we have the full MDR menu as an option.  The lack of a full MDR menu on the Edge Class in a big negative for us.  We find the Luminae options do not always match our likes.  However service was always excellent.  If we cruise on an Edge Class ship again, we will probably dine in one of the MDR occasionally depending on the menu.  The Bistro was our favorite speciality restaurant on the Apex.

The escort lead us to our cabin,

What time did you arrive to the terminal? We are planning on 11, but in that case we may have to wait to board if the ship isn’t cleared to board yet?

also, did they bring your luggage right away? Wasn’t sure if we should give up our small carryon suitcase that has all the electronics..

thanks so much for your info!!  Hope you loved the Beyond!

I like that room. Wanted to book it as part of a family cruise, but instead booked the Royal Loft and two Star Lofts on an RCL Oasis ship, due to younger children.

Iconic has a great balcony otherwise, just can't see all that stateroom space for just two of us. An EV is ideal (the overhang blocking PH and RS balcony sunshine is attrocious). Interested if service level improves for Iconic, then maybe.

For us it is just the opposite.  There was almost no shade on the Apex EV, which was a big negative for us.  We could seldom use our balcony during the morning or day.  It has absolutely no cover.  You should like the Iconic suite (at least on the Apex), because it looked to be mostly uncovered and very large.  Initially I thought the balcony was a public deck initially.

Enjoy the Iconic suite.

we are traveling with 2 kids (8 and 11) for the 11 night partial Panama cruise, so the room should be amazing!  It’s definitely a huge room for only 2 people, but as Captain Kate said in her video on the room tour “we don’t judge” 🤣🤣

I thought it was kind of odd also— that made me wonder why she asked if there was some magic boarding process lol. I should have asked her to explain lol

I have ten people, so I'd need both Iconics. Doable, but I asked the two youngest which ship they liked. Hands down Oasis class (Harmony of the Seas).

Oh, well. When they're a little older I'll take all of them on Celebrity.

Oh yes- our kids too. We are going on this with friends for a Thanksgiving trip, or we would have chosen more exciting ship for them lol. We do the occasional Celebrity because our friends like it ( they don’t have kids), but we mix in plenty of fun cruises as well.  My husband and I got married on the Oasis back in 2010, so we are definitely oasis class fans 🙂

We entered the door a couple of minutes before 11:00. The limo driver had the PRIORITY placard I'd printed from the .pdf provided by Celebrity.  We pulled right up to the Retreat entrance. Carry-ons only so everything was easy-peasey.

Hmm. I don’t think I got this pdf….

White letters on black background. I printed it on card stock. I think it also had a photo showing the Retreat luggage drop-off area, which is further down than the regular area. It had a place for your name and sailing date. I told the driver I had it and he asked for it when we encountered someone directing traffic. We were waved around. Probably didn't hurt that it was black Lincoln limo.

They definitely didn’t send this to us.. at least I know for next time to ask for it lol.  Thanks for the info! I’ll look for the retreat area when we drive up. I think I remember where it is—we will have to drop our stuff and then park our car.

I spent the last ten minutes looking for that particular .pdf. Found it! It was contained as the last document attached to an email from the Shoreside Retreat Concierge. Entitled 'Suite Luggage Terminal 25 Dash board placard'. Email included specialty restaurant menus and premium spirits list.

Oh I didn’t get that email at all!  Thanks for looking what it was labeled. I just double checked.

Sheesh, it's a boat ride. I just want a blankie on my bed. 😅

Totally get what you're saying but we're talking about the highest category on the ship which in turn costs a pretty penny.  I've been in a RS three times and didn't even know asking for PJ's or robes was a thing...you better believe I'm asking on our upcoming Solstice cruise.  For what we are paying to be in a RS, my butler should be begging me to take a robe!

Not useless at all. 😊

They want to make sure that the people who will be personally delivering your luggage directly from the Terminal to your Suite have trolleys, if necessary, to carry all your luggage.
