What currency should I tip in?

We will be sailing on b2b cruises…. Australia and New Zealand. The ship sails from Sydney-

Our gratuities are already prepaid, but we always tip extra. Which currency should we use?  Thanks!

American Dollars are accepted everywhere.

If the ship will be sailing out of Sydney for a whole after your cruise, then tip in Aussie dollars if you have them. The crew will no doubt get some shore time or want to do some shopping there.  But if it's close to repositioning,  then USD.

Just a quick comment  -- my understanding is that the crew sundry store(on the ship) is priced in US dollars so even if the ship will be out of US waters they will be able to use at least some US dollars.

The currency on the ship is USD.  They may be able to use AUD, if they get time off to go ashore and if need to buy something.

Anything. If you have left over Australian or New Zealand money use that first - much cheaper than changing it back. After that switch to 💲 , it makes no difference to the crew as the ship will change any currency for them.

I was wondering the same thing. What currency should we tip the porters at the Barcelona dock? I am assuming euros?

When I have used wheelchair at the airport & tried to tip they haven’t accepted it. If you are going to tip then do so in Euros.

I tip in US Dollars ..and I find they seem to enjoy $5 dollars bills...🤣
