Sailed Allure, now booking Symphony…what should I know?

We just did our first cruise on Allure in September, and are thinking about booking Symphony in January. What are your thoughts/opinions on the differences? What should I know?

We have sailed twice on Royal Caribbean. 
First on Allure, second on Symphony. 
 

Both were amazing 😄

There is a big purple slide on the aft of Symphony. 🙄

Symphony is newer and brighter.  Both excellent ships.  We also love the Oasis, which is the first in the Oasis class.

Symphony has Playmakers on it's boardwalk, Allure still has the pay-Mexican restaurant.  No ridiculous Abyss slide on Allure.

You will love love love Symphony if you liked Allure.  One thing is you'll miss the lazy river in Solarium, there isn't one on Symphony, but she is mostly like Allure.   Lots of little things like an infinity edge large hot tub in Solarium on Symphony that isn't on Allure. 

Gorgeous ship.  Go for it.

If you like specialty restaurants there are a few differences.   On Symphony you have Jamie's in place of Giovanni’s.   You also have 2 additional, Hooked and Wonderland.  

And besides the big purple slide on the back, there are also water slides.  You will also have new shows to watch.   We were on Allure last week and Symphony last year.  You should know if you loved being on Allure you will love Symphony.

Another difference is that Symphony doesn't have Sabor or Samba Grill. But at least that means that the Solarium Bistro is open for dinner, since that's where Samba Grill is located on the Allure.

No shade in Symphony solarium - the upper level is a restaurant.  They did have large clamshells but it took about 5 towels to screen out the sun (and not that many of the clamshells).
