sggorden Posted November 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2022 In pictures of the Balcony cabins on the Norwegian Sun deck 8, there appears to be a coffee maker in the cabin??? If this is true my prayers have been answered! Can anyone tell me if this is so?
Rare BirdTravels Posted November 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2022 You can ask for one. You may get one.

This notice was on the desk. The actual coffee maker was in the closet on the top shelf. I had coffee (as well as a muffin/danish and yogurt) delivered each morning, so I never bothered to ask for coffee pods for the pot in the room

MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 7, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2022 FYI, they are not the 4 cup coffee makers like in the past, they are single cup machines that use a pod, not a cup.

MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 8, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2022 Coffee is free, as is continental breakfast, you only pay if you order bacon, eggs, etc. yes, it is a carafe. steward will get you a coffee maker if you ask. Some have reported finding theirs in the closet, so check there.

MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 8, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 8, 2022 (edited) These pods look like little pillows. Harder to find than the cups. The brand of coffee they use is not too bad. I am not a coffee snob, but I do bring my Community Coffee pods. Edited November 8, 2022 by MagnoliaBlossom
dcipjr Posted November 8, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 8, 2022 Just off the Breakaway; the in-room coffeemakers were available by request, but we opted to order a carafe of coffee instead in the mornings. Stays hot longer, tastes better (still not great, but better than the in-room coffee ever did), and gets taken away once done, giving you more counter space.

I tipped a buck or two, provided I remembered to bring singles back from the casino the night before. I don't know if this is normal or not, but it's what I did

This time around, we are in an M6....(mini suite w/large balcony)... but we have bids on the Haven (fingers crossed) 🙂 But, I digress............ We've never ordered room service coffee on NCL (the other line, all the time)... so maybe this time we will... Do you order the night before?? When we sail with 'the other line', we used to have a door hanger that we left out the night before...now, they are doing away with the door hanger and you have to call in the morning... we'll see how it works out... I like my coffee as soon as I get up in the morning...

There was no pen in the room on my last cruise. I went down to guest services and they gave me one. I just thought it wassimply missing from my room, but I've seen others on CC mentioned that there was no pen in their cabin. I don't know if this means they are no longer leaving pen/paper by default. So, either bring a pen/pencil to fill out the hanger, or be prepared to go get one from guest services

The buffet on the getaway did have paper cups, but no lids. Either that, or the person that I asked just didn't want to go look for any, but that would be unusual. MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 11, 2022 #23 Share Posted November 11, 2022 Love having a coffee maker, but I do wish they would bring back the four cup pots. We have a small percolator that we take when traveling.
srq crewser Posted November 13, 2022 #24 Share Posted November 13, 2022 I insist on having a room with a coffee maker, as I wake up hours before my hubby. I also bring my own coffee...and I bring fillable tea bags (the long narrow kind for loose tea). I put a scoop or two in the bag and place it in the holder. Much tastier than their coffee. I sometimes bring a small portable French press, then you use the coffee maker to just heat the water. And for the poster that said Nespresso machines are in the suites, they are only in the HAVEN suites, not the Club Balcony suites. Here is the type of tea bag I get... if the link won't post, just look for fillable tea bags for loose tea. The long ones are more suited for these coffee makers than the ones with the draw string, but I haven't tried that yet!! https://www.amazon.com/Tiesta-Tea-Disposable-Unbleached-Eco-Friendly/dp/B00S8XOL88/ref=sr_1_38?crid=K661RG2GQH98&keywords=fillable+tea+bags+for+loose+tea&qid=1668339029&rdc=1&sprefix=fillable+tea+bags%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-38 1
AlohaCathy Posted November 14, 2022 #25 Share Posted November 14, 2022 Does anyone know if you can request decaffinated coffee for the coffee maker. We are in a spa balcony on Getaway. Do they also have a tea kettle or just the coffee maker? Thanks
