That looks like a really deep balcony. We board next Sunday and will be in a cabin on deck 8 in the bumped out section going towards the aft of the ship. I hope our balcony is like yours.

Did you ever find the hair dryer?  I really don’t want to have to drag one along.

Yes, In the bathroom in a bag in a cabinet. The steward had to locate it for me.

Thanks for the review and pictures - we love the Reflection and wondering if The Porch is open for lunch on any days during your cruise.

The Porch is open today for lunch - noon - 2 pm. I think just sea days.

I would recommend getting about 4 towels from the pool area to take back to your cabin to line the chairs on the balcony.   I leave them folded over to help soften them up a little bit.  The  towels also help  with other things that they may be needed for.    I will use one as a exercise mat and to stretch.   I also use one to stand on when getting dressed when I don’t have my shoes on.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Thank you for your time spent on this trip report. I'm curious about your initial impressions so far from a loyal Carnival cruiser.

It would be comparing apples and oranges. I believe every cruise line has something to offer and Carnival and Celebrity are not direct competitors anyway.

The ship is very nice; my balcony is amazing. The bathroom is good sized - much better than Celebration. I have not noticed much rust - very little, in fact, although I'm not obsessed with finding any, either. Dinner the first night was incredible - dinner last night was somewhat of a let down. Many of the shore excursions are the same. The internet is not as good as what I had on Celebration, yet costs more.

The non-smoking casino is a plus. Everyone gets free drinks while gambling it seems, but service can be slow. One of the casino bartenders finally asked me if I wanted a drink this morning  and brought it to me, yet staff does not seem to be lacking.

Dirty dishes seem to be quickly dispositioned on Lido and not left on tables for an extended period.

Missing is a comedy club or I haven't found one.

The elevators are efficient and I haven't had to wait a long time for one.

The cabins are quieter and/or the passengers more sedate. While there are young people on the ship, there are also some fossils.

Whether allowed or not, I brought some bottled water in my checked luggage and it made it to the cabin. Each adult can carry on 2 bottles of wine vs 1 on Carnival.

Carnival Elation was in Nassau when we were there, and honestly I was somewhat wishing I was on that rust bucket, even without a balcony or the better food. One thing missing is the Carnival vibe which I really can't explain. Not really any complaints about Celebrity, the staff are nice and helpful, but Celebrity doesn't cruise from ports within an easy drive for us. If I have to fly to a cruise, I prefer it to be something special like the Med or Alaska or Antarctica or...

Thank you. I probably should have done that the first day. There wasn't a ship towel in my cabin to take on the excursion in Nassau and it took me a minute to find a staff member to bring one to me. That does remind me that I pressed the button on the stateroom phone for the room steward and the phone display said invalid number. The steward did leave me his card with phone extension on it later that day.

I may have to start doing yoga again to help with flexibility.

Can you carry on bottled water while checking in?
