I don't remember his name because I never saw him, it was on the Getaway.

I am sorry you did not have a good experience with the cruise director.  We were on the Getaway for the month of August. Perhaps we saw you there. The CD was Paquito Fuchs. We saw him very often and thought he was very friendly and helpful. I hope you have a better experience with him if you cruise with him again.

It is not like he made us have a bad experience, he just didn't add any value to it. I am glad he was around more than I thought (I don't think he was at the Meet and Mingle).

Thanks; not interested in the Bliss but I saw that Djamel was GM.   I cruised with him a few years ago and have been hoping to come across him again; no chance if he is on the Bliss!!

Djamel and Dan-Dan are two of our favorites.  They always have welcomed us warmly.

Last week on the Breakaway, our cruise director was Merlina Stewart, from St Lucia. She was wonderful. The General Manager was Errol Bailey, and his assistant was Mariah Aragon. They treated us very well. I don't know if it was because I offered to host the Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle, but we ended up getting unexpected perks throughout the cruise, for free.

How do you know this? I'm just curious. I've been to many of the M&M's before, but never hosted one. If this is a 'thing,' I'll host more of them! 😁

BUT a warning; be prepared to be run off your feet if you do one for over 100 people and arrange things to do at it rather than just put your name to it.

Yes, indeed. The one I organized had 141 people RSVP, BUT: of those, fewer than 40 showed up, so it wasn't so bad. In my experience, there's a huge difference between those who RSVP and those who actually attend, which can make planning tricky.

Very disrespectful to sign up and then not show up.  Lots of work for the crew to set things up and put things away for an M&G.

That is a fault of a system whereby there is an open sign-in spreadsheet on the Roll Call.   It is so easy to sign up and "forget" about it.   There is NO COMMITMENT!!
