Concierge class and Full Suites

I didn't see anything about this yet, but will be cruising on the Summit in '24, and was wondering about the Concierge Class benefits and how the priority debarkation and concierge lunch on the first day work and if guests in full suites (The Retreat guests) would be able to join for any of these.  Currently we all have concierge class cabins, but I'm considering upgrading.

Suite guests can already get priority disembarkation where availability and lunch on Luminaire on the first day so I’m not sure why they would want to  attend the concierge lunch

It would be to lunch with the rest of those traveling in our group (my siblings and their spouses, and our parents and possibly my adult children).

If you end up being a suite passenger, I am fairly certain that you will be allowed in the MDR on embarkation day if you wanted to have lunch there with your family.

For concierege?

Yes, as in could we disembark with the concierge class passengers from our group if we are in a full suite?  The only reason I would want to do that is to help the cruise newbies in our group and keep us more or less all together.  Basically "herding cats" so to speak.

Concierge has a dedicated lounge

Granted, but it's not priority (as in first served)---concierege plays the "wait for your bag number" like everyone else.  The suite folks could also wait there with no issue, they never checked anything upon entry.

The only priority for embarkation or debarkation is for suite guests.  For debarkation their luggage is taken off first and put in a separate area

I have been wondering if suite guests have a separate place for their luggage during debarkation. Do you know if this also applies to Bayonne?

As a suite guest we were assigned group 1. We wait in MC or the Retreat. When your ready to leave someone from the lounge will escort you to the exit.

Thank you. Did they keep the luggage separate?

Celebrity is not set up for groups traveling together to be in separate classes, it just isn’t. If you are the designated cat herder, you will find yourself resentful because you will end up missing a lot of suite benefits to tend your herd. Save your money for a separate trip in suite class.

The suite luggage, at least in FLL is in a separate section - Group 1 and sometimes 2 if there’s a lot of luggage

If you end up in a suite, I'm quite certain you could talk to your butler and ask for luggage tags that match those of your Concierge family members. Then your luggage would be unloaded at the same time as theirs and into the same location to make logistics easier.

You would be giving up the priority handling of suite luggage and waiting in the Retreat Lounge for disembarkation.

Lafayette.

Sometimes husband and I have just hand-carried our luggage off the ship though, just because we tend to travel fairly light.  On our last cruise (granted it was RCL), we were given about 10 priority luggage tags for the 4 people in our suite for disembarkation.

If you leave when your number is call you will see port staff still setting up each group normally in rows. All number 1's will be grouped together, not by suite.

Thank you. We usually carry off our luggage to avoid all the confusion of everyone looking for luggage. I guess we will continue to do so.

Same here.  I'd much rather carry my luggage off and have it the morning of debarkation.  Also, don't have to wait for a certain time before getting off the ship.

At least at Seattle's Pier 91, on disembarkation morning, all the Suite/Zenith luggage is placed in a designated spot in the luggage hall.  Those folks can claim their luggage at any time during disembarkation.  Everyone else has been assigned a time and zone.  Passengers basically have to wait for Longshore to finish lining up luggage by assigned zones before Longshore releases each zone and passengers can look for their bags.

We have carried off our luggage once on Millie as a suite guest. We left from MC out the side door on to the outer deck with a separate exit for suites. It was great.

I agree with Cangelmd.  The suite experience on Celebrity is very different from RCI. It is definitely a "ship within a ship" concept. Save your money this time and upgrade another time when you are not traveling with friends and family (unless they are also in a suite).

Also, I have been the cat herder a couple times and I have learned to allow everyone to be responsible for their own "good time" on the cruise. When I felt responsible 2 things happened: I was unable to relax, and they eventually resented all my input. I am sure that you are not likely to fall into the trap that I did, but it doesn't hurt to be aware. . .
