Gambling on an Alaskan Cruise?

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

We are on a BB (NB Vancouver to Seward and then back) in late May on the Radiance.

I have looked high and low, called several times, but I can't get a straight answer - Is there gambling on an Alaskan cruise?

If so, when and where?

Thank you for your help!  Sally

We are doing some research into an Alaska cruise and from reviews I have read its been mentioned that the casino opening hours are sometimes restricted as the ship doesn't get far enough away from the coast for them to be able to open.

There is definitely gambling though as I've seen it on Youtube videos, if they can get it open I'm sure Royal will do everything in its power to do so 😀.

As a bonus if you are from the US, some of the big US banks have branches in the Alaska port towns so you can go and deposit your winnings so you don't have to drag all that cash around.  Best shore excursion ever!

We have cruised Alaska several times and we are currently on the Radiance.  The Casino will definitely be open during your cruise on deck 6. Enjoy!

Thank you Tlbecker1 - Hope you're having a wonderful time!

Is one able to gamble everyday?

They are open and have a lot of my money.

Yep, we were out to see and in the inner passage.  The Casino was open as long as we weren't pulling into port and while in port.  The only exception, they did not open the casino again  when we left Victoria on the way back to Seattle.

Even better, you can withdrawal lots more cash to fund the casino activities on the cruise back down south! 😀

Nope. Other than leaving Seattle when the casino will open after dinner, the casino is open shortly after leaving each Alaskan port.

You're right, just checked the compass that I saved and the casino is shut when it arrives in Victoria and then that's it apparently no gambling on the last night.

That's for sure.  However, if you prefer not to go on shore, the ship has those guaranteed slots that you put your bank card in and get cash back.  Those are my favorite slots, always win.  But, then those other stupid machines take it back again.
