Suite update and Check In Invitation

I was able to check in for my upcoming cruise on Saturday at Midnight.  I received this email Saturday afternoon, like 12 hours after I checked in.  I think Carnival should send this email a day or two earlier to remind their guest when you will be able to check in not after the time opened up. I am in a suite and I knew that I was able to do the check in 16 days priors, but the one thing I kept seeing post and questions about was when will suite guest have access to their  cabins.  I've seen post that  people say that everyone has to wait till like 1:30, others say that you can go to your cabin, open the bulkhead doors that lead to the cabin hallway and go to your room and drop off your stuff and come back.  But, according to this email I got it clearly states that "Once onboard you will have access to your cabin"

So there it is in black and white.  Well, let's see what happens in 2 weeks.

What have other's recent experiences like?

SUITE UPDATE AND ONLINE CHECK-IN INVITATION

Dear Valued Suite Guest,

As you get ready for your cruise, we want to make you aware of an important update regarding some of your suite priority benefits.
  • Suite guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred Arrival Appointment. Please visit My Cruise Manager on Carnival.com starting at 16 days prior to sailing to complete your Online Check-In and select the Arrival Appointment that works best with your plans. We will not be able to accommodate guests who show up outside their Arrival Appointment.
  • Upon arrival to the terminal, look for the Priority line to check-in.
  • Once on board, you will be able to access your stateroom.
  • Priority luggage delivery is available for checked-bags.
  • Priority debark and water shuttle debark is available at the home port and ports of call.
Thank you for your business.  Our great staff and crew can’t wait to welcome you on board!

Sincerely,

Christine Duffy
President, Carnival Cruise Line

What will happen is you'll be able to access your room as soon as you board. I've been in a suite and know that to be the case- same for FTTF. Also as Platinum or Diamond you can access your room to drop off your carry on upon boarding although your room as a whole may not be completely ready. Again, that's from experience on NYE.

It pays to be in the know, especially when Carnival changes the rules without notifying people of said change.. Say Yes Sticker for iOS & Android | GIPHY

If you’re in a suite, you can access it prior to 1:30 and STAY IN IT.

P and Ds just drop luggage and leave.

Yes, this is the case. Both of my cruises since the restart have been in suites, and in both cases the cabin is ready to be occupied and the sign and sail cards have been delivered. It actually makes sense to keep this procedure because on any given sailing, there is a finite number of suites. They can easily be guaranteed to be ready as opposed to a random and changing number of platinum and diamond cabins.

In that letter, it also states that you have to stick to your arrival appointment time.

Is this being enforced? Is this going to be the same, at least going forward, for Ps, Ds, and FTTF?  It seems to me, that the priority line rules need to be the same for all who can use it. Too confusing otherwise.

If you are Suit, P, D, or FTTF, show up when you want. They aren't going to turn you away like the peons stuck in the peasant lines. (sarcasm for the Sheldon Coopers). You paid for the perk to arrive when you want to. You have the earliest boarding, therefore they need to permit you into your waiting area.
