TENS unit and Ultrasound

I’m receiving acupuncture for an injury and my acupuncturist is recommending I continue with heating pad treatments, or use my TENS unit or ultrasound. 
 

I know the heating pad is not allowed, so that will not be going with us. But has anyone had recent experience taking a TENS unit or ultrasound unit on a plane and onboard a ship?  I’m wondering if TSA would be concerned.

I have been bringing my TENS unit on my travels for a number of years and have never had an issue.

Did both of you fly, and did you put it in your carry on, or checked baggage?

Have flown dozens of times with it thru numerous airports, countries, and continents.  It gets packed in my carry-on.

Unfortunately I have to fly every time.  I pack it in my checked.  Sometimes they get silly about the strangest things.  I brought 2 iPods once and was asked why.

I put the heating pad in my checked luggage and the TENS unit in carryon when I flew to FLL. I was able to bring both on board the ship.

My DW puts her TENS unit in her carryon when flying but changes to luggage for boarding the ship (we always arrive a day early).  Never a problem

If you want to take a heating pad, there are thermacare stick on pads that do pretty well.
