MSC actually had a paragraph on this in the Daily Planner on my recent Meraviglia cruise. Reminding people of proper etiquette when in public versus at home. First time I had noticed that.

Not just the Mera..... Heading is "Public Room Etiquette".

I think they should have just said "...or put feet on the furniture". It really doesn't matter, bare or not. Shoes don't belong on the furniture either, that's really just as gross and dirty.

I agree. Unless you are in your own living room where you can do whatever you please, do not put your feet, bare or otherwise, on furniture that you don't own.

 I applaud MSC for putting this policy in writing. Problem goes back to what I said about policy vs. policy enforcement. I know cruiseline employees try to be as little confrontational as they can. Shame folks can't follow simple rules...
