MSC rules on buying liquor on an island and bringing on board?

Yes. No liquor allowed, they'll confiscate it and return it to you at the end of the cruise.

Official line - no liquor bought in port allowed to be taken to cabin. Unofficial line - we have not had liquor taken from us.

Officially, the rules are that, yes, it will be taken and held until the end of your cruise. 

However, in the onboard real world, it maybe taken or it may not.
