100% of your cruise fare is covered. Even with a service charge which is the only addition to what you pay as a non-casino guest, it is a big bargain. $1000s of dollars in savings.

i take his meaning as you paid for the cruise with your gambling loses

the cruise fare is covered. Port fees and service is not and that makes 70% of the total cruise price.

You can believe whatever you want but they will not give you anything for free.

It might be that there is a situation where you save more than you actually lost before in the casino, but in average the savings of a "free" cruise a way lower than the losses you made before in the casino.

To believe anything else is simply naive.

I don`t want to ruin anybody`s fun. If you have fun with playing in the casino...all fine.

but they also have cruisenext certificates. $250 for only $125 so $125 free.

so that pays some of the port fees/taxes.

so with gambling smart, you can have a truly cheap cruise.

but i agree with you that for a majority of people with free casinos cruises, it's not actually cheap.

they dont gamble smart

70%??? No way.  My next cruise, the fare is $2800.  The port fees and taxes come to $311.  Add in the $140 for the DSC.  That's under 20%.  And this is what I'm used to.  I've never seen anywhere near 70%.  I fail to see how saving $2800 would ever not be considered significant.  Now, I believe that your gambling budget (yes losses) will be the same either way so the $2800 is a true savings.

yes, if you want it can be extremely cheap.  Like you said, you can use a CN or CF certificate to save up to $250 ($500 CF or double CN), which could cover all of your expenses.  And remember, there is no requirement to gamble at all.  You also get free drinks in the casino, so you could decline the free at sea drink package (I always do).  You'd have a great vacation for $250 out of pocket.

true, there;s no requirement to gamble on the ship.

but you're still gambling at your land casino. you met ncl's profile to get a free cruise.

so you're still paying for your cruise from your land casino loses, unless you're gambling smart.

gambling smart= price of cruise is waaaaay less than your loses

I don't understand this at all.  We are on a comped cruise in a few weeks.  6 nights our of FLL.  For a balcony stateroom we are paying $160 pp for taxes and port fees...nowhere near 70%.  When I looked up the cost of the room for booking outright, it's $1250 pp.  I don't expect the cruise line to pay the taxes and port fees on my behalf.  As far as the actual room and board is concerned, we are getting a "free cruise".  I prefer to call it "comped" because the cruise line is comping me based on my casino play.  What am I missing here?

I totally agree.  Trust me, I'm not jaded on how it works.  I was just pointing out that you could take advantage of the cruise really cheap, not taking into it the past.  To be honest, it doesn't take a lot to qualify for the cruise comps from land based casinos.  Especially now with sports betting.  Good point about smart gambling, but the best advice is to not gamble for comps.  Just have fun. Me personally, I plan to lose all of what I take to the casino.  Anything short of that, I'm ahead.

Cruise next certificates have nothing to do with the casino stuff. 😉

I know that you can save some money with these certificates.

It simply depends on how much is the cruise fare. 😉

For a cruise which they sell for extremely low rates to fill the ship the percentage is much higher than for a very expensive cruise. And i guess it also depends on the itinerary. Northern Europe is way more expensive regarding port fees than e.g. the caribbean.

But you are right,70 % was way too high. 20-30% is more realistic.

But anyway, you won`t get a free cruise voucher from your casino which might be worth 3000 USD if you visited this casino only once and spent 150 USD. 😉

Can anyone tell me an approximate amount of money in casino play needed at either Cesears or onboard to achieve free cruises? Just curious.....

Caesar’s has free cruise promotions all the time. You have to play enough to get promotions.

While the numbers are lower now, pre-pandemic, it was common for 20%+ of the adult passengers on a ship to be casino guests. Land-based certificates, land-based discounts (e.g., based on your Caesars Rewards tier level), casinos at comps, casino at see discounts.

The casinos at Sea top tier is Elite, which requires you to earn 100,000 points. That is $500,000 in slot play.

If the industry average slot payout is 96%, how much, on average, would you lose if you play $500,000?
