Coffee, lemonade, and iced tea are available from the drink stations in the Oceanview Cafe.   You can bring your own water and soda on board although I don't know if there is a limit.  When we used to do this, we would bring two 12 pack sleeves with us in our carry on luggage when we boarded.

I once brought a Costco case of water on board.  I slapped a luggage tag on it which later showed up at my cabin intact.

The porters will take anything with a tag on it (or slap a tag on anything you give them) as long as there’s a tip.

It really should be carried on though. If it busts in a pile of luggage, you’ll be responsible for any damage to anyone else’s property. (And yes, I have overheard part of a discussion between ship officers and a passenger who had beverages in his checked stuff that had broken and stained/damaged other luggage. He was being told he was responsible for the repair and replacement of those - and if he gave any trouble he would be escorted off the ship before we even sailed.)

The porter WAS tipped. BTW the water was not HIDDEN in a suitcase. Apples and oranges.  If they put the water on the bottom then it was their fault for not knowing how to stack.  I trusted them to know their job! They did it well.

You're welcome to carry it if you prefer. I prefer to let the porters do it.

As I said, they’d take anything as long as they’re tipped. They don’t care about the rules.

And the rules are that it is to be carried on.

Please show me where that official Celebrity rule is and I will believe you.  Or is this just a projection of an opinion?

I've wondered is it even the porters job to know and enforce prohibited items?  If X employees are the ones scanning the checked bags, that answer would be no

I called X about this a few weeks ago. They said you can bring as much as you can carry on.  It cannot be checked.

Celebrity customer service is notorious for giving incorrect answers.  You can call one person and get answer A and call again to another person and get answer B.  That's one reason people post questions here - to see the actual experiences.

If it's IN luggage, agreed. BUT it should be pretty easy to tell them "No cases of soda or water" and stop it when people aren't trying to hide it in luggage but just have it out and open.

12 packs are not that heavy - especially since you can go straight to your cabin to drop stuff off. Just carry it - especially if you're only taking one.

Yes, I know but others can confirm the same info that was shared with them.  We personally have carried bottled water on in the past :

We have brought checked in 40 bottle on Costco waters at least 10-12 times.  Never an issue.

Thank you. I've only done it once because the numerous Celebrity cabins I have booked mostly came with the bev pkg which included water.  But I don't understand the virtue signaling. Had it not been allowed, someone would have confiscated them and made us pick them up at the end of the cruise just as they do with the liquor or extension power strips.
