Star Link is Killin' It! Live from Getaway

 Very happy to report that Starlink is amazing. First time in many cruises that we have had super-fast internet. We do NOT have premium internet, just the basic. I have been actually able to stream for short periods of time.

Cruise is Getaway 11 day Southampton to Hamburg, Amsterdam, yada yada. Ship clean, staff beyond friendly and happy.

Food- Cagneys-excellent   Sushi- Excellent if limited menu

LeBistro- excellent food,service slightly slow

Tropicana- meh-not bad, not great. 
Garden Cafe- morning was fine, I tried lunch there today and the crowds were ridiculous.

brought lunch back to cabin as no indoor seating and it was blowing and cold outside

 

Bars: good service for most part, cranky bartender at the mojito bar but really good drinks.

 

 

Shows: 

plenty of entertainment so the rumors of "not one show!!" are unfounded.

music everywhere on the ship.

no complaints.

 

 

This is our second "non-Haven" cruise . Club balcony with large balcony is perfect for 2.

Escape isn't getting theirs until 2024, per iCafe manager when asked last month 

... of course, he's not in charge of the rollout schedule. 

 

Quite surprised that it's not turned on for the Prima, Bliss and Encore or the Joy.

I sure hope Joy gets it before our June 2024 cruise. It's going into dry dock so one would think they'd do it then.

We were on the Viva a few weeks ago, and it worked very well.  Even did a couple of facetime calls.

Had a chat with the Joy GM a couple weeks ago and he confirmed that it will be part of the dry dock refurbishment this January/February.

Currently on the Getaway. This is the non-streaming internet.
