iwannacruz Posted October 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2023 Going on the Mardi Gras Thanksgiving week. Already have balcony booked and have done a balcony on the Mardi Gras 2 years ago but thinking of upgrading to suite? Love some feedback on whether or not we should switch. Pros/cons Thanks in advance.
firefly333 Posted October 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2023 Do you prefer a bath tub, want a little extra space. Mardi gras suite used to include bubbles, not much. Earlier boarding. I'm solo so for me unless I'm getting something I want I'm a no.
Drazil65 Posted October 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2023 We had an bump out balcony OS on MG (deck 12) last December and loved it. There are 3 of us in the cabin and we love the extra room inside and out. Also, there is a curtain you can draw across the living room area for more privacy if you need it (DS slept on couch bed in that area), there were also 2 large TV's in the cabin if you care about that. We enjoy a good suite on any ship but this one was a little better/different than expected, We would get one again on MG.
cruisinqt Posted October 22, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2023 Personally I love the makeup/vanity area by the bathroom. My husband loves the living room with the curtain that separates things so his late night tv watching or gaming doesn’t disturb me. We both love the larger balcony and bigger bathroom.
kelkel2 Posted October 22, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2023 We had the bump out balcony 14410 on the MG in January. We really liked it for the extra space and the larger bathroom. It for sure has its perks when traveling with more than 2 in a room.
thesmiths Posted October 22, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2023 We had a suite for Alaska and loved it. Aft wrap suite for 10 days. But for the most part we get an AFT wrap and I get the FTTF, less money than the suite but we have the wrap balcony and board early!
silvercrikhix Posted October 22, 2023 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2023 We’ve had most of the suites, not on the newer ships yet tho. We will 90% of the time get the suite for the huge aft wrap balcony. While the extra room and dressing area/larger bathroom are nice, it’s all about the suites balcony for us. It’s a very private paradise back there. And room for our friends/family to hang out with us too.

It just depends on the ship and sailing. I’d suggest getting on the website and doing a mock booking and see how much it comes out to.
Rare sparks1093 Posted October 23, 2023 #10 Share Posted October 23, 2023 We've done both on different classes of ships and unless it's a special occasion it's balcony for us (well, if the upsell fairy calls with an offer that can't be refused we'd upgrade. That's how we got our first suite.)
TX Cruise Girl Posted October 24, 2023 #11 Share Posted October 24, 2023 We love the extra bathroom and closet space. I would prefer a suite if it's at a decent rate.
john91498 Posted October 24, 2023 #12 Share Posted October 24, 2023 We used to get suites, but now that the kids are older, they want their own room. So, wifey and I will get a balcony and the kids will have an interior across the hall. We enjoyed the larger room with a suite and I miss it now.
