Hmmmmm, I am surprised no one has answered.  The coffee place on the Island is Good Spirits At Sea on deck 5 in Piazza.  I understand specialty coffee is also available in the area outside

buffet as well

Which bar can I get coffee?

I assume you want specialty coffee.

Also at Casino Bar Deck 6(less crowded -- you may see a sign at Good Spirit when it is crowded suggesting Casino Bar).

Also at Amuleto inside Horizon Ct.

All of the above are correct.  I'm not a coffee drinker, but the Amuleto in Horizon Court on Lido was always busy during breakfast hours making lattes etc.  In fact one of the bartenders we got to know did double duty as a supervisor of the coffee bar there during his mornings.  It made for a long day for him, he said.

Island and Coral have never had an International Cafe in the Piazza.  Coral does currently have a small version of an International Cafe on Deck 6 next to the Casino.  Maybe someday the Island will get one there also especially if they continue to use it for the World Cruises.

You're right.  The Island used to have La Patisserie. I'm not sure when it was removed.  From a Google search:

" La Patisserie. Café Style to Go. For cappuccino, espresso and other coffee specialties, as well as fresh pastries"

The description of the Island on Princess.com shows La Pastisserie as of this morning.

I agree the description is there - but there is not Patisserie - just Amuletto at bow of Horizon Court and Good Times on deck 5.

Was on the Island in October, and even though its gone, there are still signs in some places for La Patisserie. I looked for it several times before realizing it's now a bar.

Yes to Lavazza in the Amuletto section in the HC. As a decaf drinker it is a HUGE improvement over the dregs they used to call decaf.

Non coffee drinker here, do you know if Amuletto has soda? Is it open the same hours as the buffet? Thanks.

Thanks for the info, I'll be on Island in a few weeks and was expected la patisserie as a version of international cafe. That's a bummer, because I like to get up early, like 5, and hit the IC for light breakfast and coffee, but I doubt that Good Spirits would be open 24 hours, like the IC. I'll be jet lagged and probably waking up at 3 am anyway, so more of a bummer. I remember on Royal last month they had some canned Lavazza coffee that would be interesting to try, if it's included in Plus.

I too booked a cruise on the Island, partially based on what was and what still is listed as features of the ship - such as La Pastisserie.  I'm not cancelling the cruise on just that, but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth.  However, I can usually find a work around for most anything Princess throws at us, so I'll take my travel mug and find early morning coffee somewhere on the ship.

It's not the only thing that will leave a bad taste in your mouth...  Having just been on the Island Princess for the 12 night 'Oktoberfest' cruise #2319, I can tell you that the coffee is awful. no matter where you get it from.    I was shocked how bad it is tbh.  Why don't they just franchise their cafes out to Starbucks or similar?  (Cunard used Costa last time we were onboard IIRC - very acceptable coffee).

I have fed back the same message to Princess via the cruise feedback.

One of my workarounds is to carry a tin or two of International Foods Cafe Mocha instant.  Depending on how bad the on board coffee is, I'll add a teaspoon or two of the instant before I head out for coffee. I can buy a whole tin of the instant for what one chi chi coffee on board costs.

I don't understand why they can't get a basic like that right.

We had 6 or 7 great coffees on our cruise, every one of them was in a cafe in a port.  Haarlem, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Oslo, etc. we didn't find a cafe serving bad coffee.  On the ship though, it was terrible.

Our previous experience on P&O and Cunard was that the dining room coffee was meh but the speciality coffees were fine.  Not this time.

DH just asked the waiter for a diet coke and they would bring it. If there was a dispenser we didn't look for it.

Amuletto was always "open" but had snacks and other food only at certain times, check the patter for that. But the buffet always had good snacks except when closed for dinner setup.

There was an area for specialty coffees in Amuleto on the starboard side, with usually a line. I make my own lattes at home but we both just had the Lavazza on the ship so can't comment on those.

They are rolling out Lavazza, which is okay coffee but unsure when it will be done fleetwide.

I just came off the Island recently.  The Good Spirits Bar had a glass covered food cart next to the windows near the bar that had pastries and small sandwiches throughout the day.  Not easy to see when walking by.

Thanks, Dora.  Did the selections change or was it the same thing every day?
