Rare CruzerDeb Posted November 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2023 I previously started a thread about how to book this tour and the consensus and past experience was that you had to go to the Shore Excursion desk on embarkation day to book the tour. That is no longer the case! You can now book online. I just booked my tour for my 2/3/24 cruise in the Horizon!
staceyglow Posted November 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2023 That is great news! We have a transpacific booked next year, and we will be looking for things to do during the many sea days.

Lidolounger Posted November 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2023 I just saw this in my cruise manager too. Don't recall hearing anything from JH about this, but we were able to book it as well.
Rare Haljo1935 Posted November 15, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2023 Maybe ability to book online depends on the ship...🤔
mpacker Posted November 15, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2023 JH announced it a couple days ago, but it is supposedly only on the Horizon at this time. They are testing it and will roll it out to other ships later

Oh that's aggravating. I'm not on FB, wife is. But I missed this and it's already sold out for our Horizon 11/25 cruise. I did a search for it when I was on the Shore Excursions page - IDK if it was actually under SE or not. Someone in my FB group mentioned that it was a “trial” by Carnival, so maybe it’s not available fleet wide ?

Our cruise in May ended up doing two tours because they had so many people wanting to sign up. I don't know if that was an anomaly or what but it never hurts to try!

Rare dropbackandpunt Posted November 15, 2023 #17 Share Posted November 15, 2023 When it does become available on other ships where is it listed online? Under shore excursions? As a separate category in the cruise manager?

I saw it under shore excursions for the embarkation day... here's the listed description: Tour happens on the last sea day of your voyage. See additional notes below. Most Carnival guests are aware that behind the scenes of their cruise vacation there’s a bustle of activity to deliver fun memorable experiences, but few have gotten an up-close look at these inner workings. Experience an array of “back of house” areas that are vital to a ship’s daily operations on our Behind the Fun Ultimate Tour! Explore beyond the public areas with visits to the ship’s bridge, engine control room, main galley, staff dining areas, storeroom, laundry, and other spaces for a rare insider’s view of many areas typically seen only by the ship’s crew. The tour is extremely exclusive, offered only once during the cruise on a sea day and is limited to only 16 participants. Led by our onboard Learning & Development Manager accompanied by a member of our security team, you'll get to visit sensitive areas operated at elevated security levels. Tour participants will also be able to meet and interact with shipboard staff while visiting the different areas. What’s Included: Limited edition Behind The Fun baseball cap, identifying guests as Honorary Team members. Complimentary commemorative photos. Carnival branded goodies. Light snacks and pastries. NOTES Tour happens on the last sea day of your voyage. If there is only one sea day on your voyage, your tour will take place on that day. Please stop by the Carnival Adventures desk to collect your tickets. For security reasons, no cameras, recording devices of any kind or cell phones are permitted on the tour. The tour will be visiting a few areas that are accessible only by stairs. Some of the stairs are rather steep. Guests must wear comfortable closed toe shoes or sneakers, no sandals or flip flops. No bathing attire or skirts are permitted. Minimum age for tour is 8 years. Any guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The total tour, including check-in process, lasts approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. 2

Tobleronebar Posted November 15, 2023 #20 Share Posted November 15, 2023 A few of us in my group just booked. Interesting that the date and time is the day we board. We will wait and see if Carnival updates with correct date and time. Many thanks for sharing this information! Can’t wait!!

DukeASUGirl Posted November 30, 2023 #24 Share Posted November 30, 2023 I see that the accessible version is $50/person because it includes video of the places that are inaccessible with mobility devices. Even though none of the people I'll be cruising with have accessibility issues, I still wish there was an option to do a lower-priced tour and just not go to all the places (obviously not taking spots from those who need it). The Girl Scout troop I lead would love to do something like this, but the girls are paying for their entire cruise with cookie money and the $130 tour isn't in the budget although a $50 tour would be. This really does sound great!
D41 Posted January 7 #25 Share Posted January 7 I am hoping that they hold some reservations back for people to book once onboard. My husband hesitated and now it is sold out for our Mardi Gras sailing next month.
