Westerdam September 2025 cancelled Alaska cruises

Just was notified to "move over" to an earlier August 2025 "Westerdam" Alaska cruise as HAL cancelled all of "Westerdam's" September 2025 trips.

Wonder where she is going to?

Could be due for a drydock at that point...30 months from previous drydock. HAL told you ALL September W cruises were canceled?

Here are photos of the Westerdam in last drydock. Things get crusty in the waters of Alaska, the efficency lost & fuel increased by 10-15% from crustaceans. The sealife goes into the fresh seafood buffet served in the Lido. A Princess ship was only able to move at lower speed and cancelled port calls due to prop problems. When Westerdam approached within 150 yds of the Hubbard Glacier I like the thrusters at 100%. Disembarking in the Gulf of Alaska is a bear.

If it is a drydock it would be logical. There are several facilities in the area that could do the work, including Victoria. If she is following her recent rotation she would be shifting from Alaska to Australia/New Zealand where there have been many ships having to cancel parts of there itineraries because of fouled hulls. So a drydock before that shift would make for a lovely clean hull with fresh antifouling coating.

28 day Legendary Vogage: Seattle to Alaska to Hawaii to Seattle.  August 31st to September 28th.

Just booked September 28th - 13 days Seattle to Yokohama, glad it’s not going to be a first sailing out of drydock.
