Yesterday was Kuala Lumpur.

The excursion Batu Caves and pewter factory.

Today, paying the price of the 272 steps outside and 90 inside just to get into the cave.

Oh and monkeys everywhere.

Great shots Wavetripper!  We miss all of you.  Arrived home safely around 5pm Monday Phoenix time after leaving the ship noon Sunday Singapore time.  Made for a 40+ hour journey.  The worst part was leaving the ship at noon and having a nearly midnight flight.  But Singapore airport is a great place and clean and well run.  Luggage forward delivered the bags two days after we arrived.  Pretty good for coming from the other side of the world. Anyway, hope yall have a great time around Africa and will be looking forward to reading posts and seeing the great pictures...

Great to hear you are home safe and sound. Today Phuket excursion Coral Beach by speedboat we will see how it goes. Sea is a little choppy could make for an interesting 20 min boat ride.

Cheers 🍻

From what friends who did it the other day, it’s not the ride that is tough, it’s the floating pier and having enough strength in your core that is really interesting!  Good luck

Jim, glad you and your luggage are safe and sound back in AZ.

Now you are land locked like many of us enjoying the  WC gang that are going forward  to Africa and points North.😊

Finding out that a special dinner will be held on the Neptune at the restaurant on the 30th and Manfredi's and Chef's Table will be closed. According to the Sky there's may be a day earlier the 29th.

Back to Phuket. It was a beautiful day for a high speed beach get away to Kahung Beach from Patong.

The air and water temperature were perfect as was the food and lounge chairs.  Plenty of chairs but one could opt to sit under an umbrella with table and  chairs right on the beach was only approximately $8.00 for the whole day.

Watched a hornbill feeding its young.

Only one thing just a jellyfish sting which was quickly resolved by the guides vinegar remedy.

An excellent beach getaway.

You don't want to know what is in the guides jellyfish sting remedy.....😱

I know what you’re saying, but is it at least mixed with vinegar?🤦🏻‍♀️

You would think that with that many people in the ocean, the guides remedy wouldn't be necessary.

Just finished the New Chef’s Table South African menu designed by Chef Beni who has been with Sky for several months and is a warm and wonderful guy (and whom I helped push to add salt to the grits😂)

OMG, dinner was so good! Pictures and notes are posted over on the 21 menus thread.

Go make reservations now-Beni is boarding in Cape Town to share with y’all. I’d make reservations for one of the sea days a few days after he boards even if the menu says something else-we heard about the new one from him a couple of weeks ago, but the menu didnt show up on the app or calendar at the podium until a couple of days ago.

We hope Beni will be rejoining us after he visits y’all but he says that hasn’t been decided yet. 🤞

Our stop in Richards Bay was just canceled.  Pilots boarded by helicopter but left the same way soon after. Too dangerous to dock was the decision.  I feel very badly for all the cruisers suppose to leave on Overlands. I'm sure this is a big disappointment to all.

We've now missed docking in Durban. This was an attempt to get the folks off the ship for the various overland excursions. The pilot made it onboard, and the captain made a few passes at the harbor entrance, but the wind and weather gods just weren't with us today.

That is awful.  So what’s the revised itinerary?  Are we both gonna end up in Capetown at the same time?

speaking of which, when/how did Neptune go from being three days after Sky to only two?

Very disappointing for the overlanders. Itinerary has us in Port Elizabeth tomorrow. 🤞

I believe Sky had a second stop after India in Reunion, which the Neptune did not. We'll get back the third day with two stops in Namibia.

Two stops??? #NeptuneGetsEverything. We only get Walvis Bay-where else are y’all going?

did yall miss Reunion due to weather or was that the plan all along? If so, that’s too bad-it was beautiful.

Well, Clay, take the VI off VIKING NEPTUNE and what do you get?? 😂😂. Although the king seems to have abandoned us today.  Gale force winds.  Reunion was never on our schedule, but glad you enjoyed it!

We were supposed to leave Cape Town last night but are still sitting at the dock this morning. Too windy to leave and now it seems windier. Maybe an announcement at 8?  Beautiful sunny day except for the wind.

Is it really the wind? Ok I'm on Queen Victoria and we cannot enter port until you leave! We had letters this morning about immigration Departure checks tomorrow our 2nd day and it all sounds like a deliberate spoiler by the authorities. This will be the worst port experience of our World Cruise so far. It's now 10.47 waiting out at sea, captain gave ETA arrive alongside noon to 1300. What a shame.
