Most people think the 4/5/6 drink vouchers is an "extra" reward.

I could see that, as you can use it throughout the day VS a few hours in the lounge.  You still have use them in the lounge now, but I see it as a perk.

We mainly cruise out of Galveston and I have definitely seen the P's attempt to take over the Suite Lounge but not every single time.  We have also seen the bad entitled behavior as well as friendly delightful people.  I did notice a huge difference on Harmony last fall when only the top 30 were allowed - the SL was always busy but no circles or furniture being moved.  We still laugh about a certain P "lady" who demanded my 6'5 husband move away from the elevator buttons so she could press the button to close the door faster- sometimes almost on people.  When we were the only ones left on the elevator and it was obvious we were all going to the SL, she barged off the elevator and managed to slam the door to the SL in our face.  We "enjoyed" seeing her berate the staff all week. What a gem she was!  Be interesting to see how the Mariner SL will be this spring.

I agree that the D L.will go through a transition and some loyal folks will be left behind (like me). But the way of the world is money so my guess is they stop measuring Days at sea and start measuring money spent oncabins  drinks, restaurants ect ..just like Delta started this year . But time will tell

Already has since it's not called the DL anymore.  I also agree with many who say there's a reason it's the Crown Lounge now.

I was being sarcastic.  VERY sarcastic. She should have behaved better.  We saw she was one of the top cruisers on the sailing so she should have been much nicer to the staff - and to other passengers.  It's that type of behavior that gives ALL the Pinnacles a bad rep.  Those that were with her should have stepped up and controlled it.  I would never associate with someone who treated the staff the way she did.

It's sad to think that the behavior started when they became Pinnacle.  It did not.  It's only attributed to Pinnacles because of the identifying gold pin.

I don’t attribute bad behavior to any particular group. There are idiot gold status C&A members. There are rude and annoying newbie cruisers. Some of the best conversations I have had and nicest folks I have met on cruise ships have been pinnacle members.

Yeah right. VERY poor expression for what you saw. Top cruisers, tier levels, cabin categories, etc. has absolutely nothing to do with manners or behavior.

Now if she received the same treatment back, I would have "enjoyed" that.

Dog hog, I'm sorry if you didn't understand my sarcasm.  Tone is often hard to interpret when reading. Of course we didn't "enjoy" seeing her being a jerk. The staff handled it beautifully and we are always impressed at how gracious they are to passengers at ANY level who treat them poorly.  I totally agree with all of you saying that bad behavior has nothing to do with tier levels and cabin categories.  But when a passenger uses their status or cabin as a weapon to bully staff, then yes, it does reflect poorly not just on them but on the status they love to boast about.  Kindness and respect should be a priority for every passenger.  Out of over 30 cruises, we have seen very few rude passengers but it has been our experience that most of the time it has come from people old enough to know better and from those who are regular cruisers.

Interesting thread. I think most of us who have cruised for a number of years have stories to share about watching others actions on a cruise. I feel for the crew that has to deal with them. They have to keep quiet and take it. As a fellow guest, we do not.

No biggie. I can be pretty sarcastic also.  😁 I also agree no one should use, brag, boast demand or bully someone or a group of people based on what or who they believe they are. But I refuse to lump a group of people, Ps in this case based on others (pick a number) bad behavior. I'll just consider the source and draw my own opinion of that person. But I'll respect your option. Sometimes my bark is worse than my bite. Cheers. 🍻✌️

I'm just going to state the obvious, and I'm not going to beat around the bush.

Those individuals who lord over other pax because of their P status are simply entitled, status-seeking snobs.

I don't care how much they spent to get there.  Crappy behavior is not acceptable.  That is all.

This is true, though its more disappointing to see someone who has extensive cruise history would display poor manners particularly towards staff. Someone that has put in hundreds of days at sea, know exactly what the crew goes through and has probably received very good service over that time (otherwise I don't know why someone would cruise that much with Royal if they didn't).

Easy. It's all about them. Entitled.

Back to the topic of the thread, looking forward to the HH in the CL on our next RC cruise.

Yes, it's the 2 sigmas on the normal distribution curve that are entertaining.

We were on a RCCL S2S in Vancouver last May, being escorted through the US Border Services and Check-in dog's breakfast by port staff (Our son uses a wheelchair). Got to a point where the lines merged and had a P screaming "they can't go first, we're pinnacle, we get to go first". Laughable for extra 10 second delay in boarding.

Vast majority of P's I have met have been personable and genuine in trying to improve cruising for all.

Another wondrous thread on CC that goes off on so many tangents.

The subject's journey has been hijacked so many times it is hard to keep track of it all.

Like so many journeys, it finally ends up where it started.

😁

Patiently waiting for the change we know is coming as there are more and more reports of the "temporary" change on multiple cruises.  We're on Vision in about 7 weeks for a b2b but as they are two 8 night Bahamas/SE coast cruises, we may not see the limits then as that itinerary doesn't attract as many upper tiers unless it becomes permanent.  When we made D there was the "Diamond event" with no food except bar mix and when we made D+, we did get into CL's on ships that had them (mainly Vision class) and now that we're 65 pts from Pinn, who knows lol.  We just roll with it as we cruise to cruise and tiers just come with it.

The April 4th cruise will probably have fewer families since it starts on the Thursday after Easter and most students will have to be in school. Sold out except for the ultimate suite at this time. I expect there will be many "experienced" cruisers on that journey. I would predict limits on the Crown Lounge on that one.

My money is that the cruise leaving on April 12th, you will have less competition. It is an April cruise and the ship leaves cold weather to just stop at South Carolina after a slow cold cruise for one day to arrive at a cooler weather port instead of hustling to Port Canaveral in one day. They charge you an extra $145 port charge per person to stop at S.C. in a month that is still cold on a ship that only has one indoor pool which was suppose to be for adults. Odds are, there will be hours available for non adults in the Solarium because of the temperatures.

The price was low because of the South Carolina stop and many new cruisers would not know the difference. I predict you will have an easier time getting to the Crown Lounge on that cruise.

I could  be wrong, just an observation after 35 years of cruising.

We've done this itinerary several times including a couple over spring break (so glad not this time 700 kids on a ship that holds 2500 people is not fun).  We've cruised on Vision class out of Baltimore 14 times.  The 12 night is the most popular with the most top tier.  The 8 night and the 5 night Bermuda tend to have quite a bit less.  One 5 night to Bermuda in 2022, at 400 something points we were #3 onboard and were asked to go on stage behind the two Pinns.  Our experience on an April SE coast cruise is the weather has been great.  Charleston weather has been beautiful.  PC, we generally don't get off anymore but it's usually pretty warm.  It's been shorts weather every time we've done the SE coast cruise in April.

Who said the price was low?

During the Black Friday Sale and Cyber Monday Sale in November of 2023, those dates out of Baltimore were going for about $1,200 per cabin (two person occupancy, GTY cabin, including taxes with a $50 OBC from multiple travel agencies).

I would call those prices extremely low compared to what was offered before they were sold out at close to twice that price about one month ago.

I did not say your quoted low prices. I am only stating that I could get a better price on an 8 day cruise from Baltimore if it stopped at South Carolina compared to a cruise that directly went to Port Canaveral and avoided the colder weather of South Carolina for a sea day and a port day.

First, how do you know what the prices were?  Second, we're in a JS and there aren't a lot of those.  My entire point is our actual, real experience having done this itinerary several times.  As I said, every time we've done it in April, our weather has been warm and beautiful.

Ok, you are in a Junior Suite. I absolutely acknowledge that there are not a lot of Junior Suites onboard the Vision. You are an experienced cruiser who has done this itinerary several times. Your weather has been warm and beautiful every time you have cruised,

Got it.

You are "actual."

You stated that you believe you have a high probability of not being limited in the Crown Lounge per the topic of this thread.

I am giving you my opinion that you might be too optimistic on your expectations.

My opinion and only my opinion. When you post, I read your post and give you my opinion.

I think it might be best to not express my opinion or respond to your post. If I might disagree, better to not respond and move on.

GOT IT!
