Rare mitsugirly Posted April 21 Author #51 Share Posted April 21 Once everything was put away guess who was hungry again...we decided we didn't feel like changing for the MDR and headed to the buffet for some dinner. Yep, I'm carb-ing it up this cruise. I wasn't too overly thrilled with the choices, but I found a few things to fill the belly up with. They did have these wonderful sugar free deserts though...they were so good I had to have two of them. After dinner we headed to the theater for the Welcome Aboard show. Except they were having bingo instead. Already? We decided to just sit there and watch until it was time for the show. Of course Sakari said "I want to play"....no, no you don't I enforced. I went to the restroom prior to the show and managed to find 2 thumbnail sized ducklings that seemed to have lost their mother somewhere on the ship. When did it become a thing to hide ducks so small that they are hardly seen by the naked eye? I only found it because it was sitting on the toilet paper holder in the stall I was in. The other was sitting on the sink counter. I knew the mother duck had to be somewhere around and I would keep my eyes peeled the rest of the cruise. I normally try to bring ducks with us because they are so much fun to hide and even more fun to watch people find them. However, I dropped the ball this time and forgot to order them until it was too late. I guess I'll be the hunter on this cruise this time. I mean it is Easter and it's duck hunting season right? The only issue is, there's thousands of kids on this cruise with keen eyes I'm battling it out with. It was time for the show: There was a half an hour of nothing but talking and making jokes and I was beginning to wonder if there was actually a "show" or this was it. Finally some singers and dancers came out and did a few routines. I did notice they were also the same dancers that we were beside at the sail away party. That explained why they were so good dancing at the party. I can't honestly say that I enjoyed this show. It wasn't exactly what I had expected. Normally when NCL does their welcome show it's sort of a preview of bits and pieces of their shows throughout the week. (However, I haven't been to one recently and don't know if they even do them still post covid since so many things have changed.) The singing was "ok" and they did have 3 people that had really decent voices. The others, not so much and I'm pretty sure some were only back up singers or didn't sing at all and just danced. However, Karl had never seen anything like this before or been to a show and he said "That was really good! I liked it" I can only imagine what he would say about a Royal Caribbean show. It could possibly blow his mind to pieces. It had been a long day so we headed back to the room and was in bed by 10pm. The kids were extremely tired and couldn't wait to go to sleep.
mamiamjo Posted April 21 #52 Share Posted April 21 I’m all caught up and following your review. Looks like you guys are in for a fun time. It’s been a while since I’ve read any of your reviews, I can’t believe how big Sakari has gotten. I hope you guys had a wonderful cruise.
Rare mitsugirly Posted April 21 Author #53 Share Posted April 21 I'm going to stop right here and try to rest some. I have a feeling it's going to be a long night. Calls usually happen in the middle of the night and last time I was on call a full weekend I didn't manage to sleep but 3 hours during a 48 hour period. I was a zombie! I will continue tomorrow with the ship pictures I took and continue with the next day. Until then, I'll leave you with the Fun Times for this day.
AKR2011 Posted April 21 #54 Share Posted April 21 Great review so far! Kam has definitely inherited some of Kendra's ways with the jokes, but man! I would be so upset if that had happened to me after being so worried about Kendra being in jail 😥 You seemed to take it well. How in the world did you manage not to get mad?

I think me, Kendra and Sakari will all be the same height in life. Hubby thinks Sakari will be taller. We will see. 😄 9 hours ago, AKR2011 said: Great review so far! She's just too smart! To come up with something like that blew my mind! Trust me I was livid after I found out but being relieved that it was a hoax put my mind at ease more. She did get a few threatening words from me before we sailed away... trust me. 😄 9 hours ago, riktishaw said: We were on this cruise with you. I can’t wait to re-live it! Rare mitsugirly Posted April 22 Author #63 Share Posted April 22 Yesterday got super busy and I worked all day long and didn't get a chance to get back on here. I'll give you a ship tour...at least the pictures that I did get around the ship. I always seem to get home and wonder how I missed things. Of course it's usually the places we visited often so therefore I say to myself "We'll be back and I'll get them then" then never do. Oops! Rare mitsugirly Posted April 22 Author #65 Share Posted April 22 Deck 4 Heros Bar: always had sports going on in here Limelight Lounge: Where they have all the comedian shows here and always crowded and definitely not enough room for everyone. Panorama Casino: They even had one of those glow thingymabob's in there too that you could see from the floor above. There was a glass around it so no smoke smell filtering up to this deck.

Rare mitsugirly Posted April 22 Author #67 Share Posted April 22 DECK 5: Alchemy Bar Bonsai Sushi Bonsai Teppanyaki: We did see them having a fire/flame in here during the "performance". I thought that was odd because I'm pretty sure that NCL stopped doing the fire due to hazard. Cherry On Top For those that need to get your duck on...they had duck everything. Carnival is cashing in on the duck hunting experience now.

Rare mitsugirly Posted April 22 Author #70 Share Posted April 22 Havana Bar Pixels where you can buy all your pictures during the cruise, have a professional session and purchase items like electronics, a GoPro and even a snorkel mask to attach your GoPro too (trust me, I considered it but after thinking about it, it's attached to the top of the mask and usually when snorkeling, that part is up out of the water....so what would you be getting video of? Hmmm...am I right or no?) Then there are seating area's that you could look at your pictures on the screens there as well. The Library where you can read or play games: (as you can see...we spent some time in there. Sakari is concentrating hard here)

The back of the pool is the Tides Pool and hot tubs The Seafood Shack is also located on the back of the ship by the Tides Pool. You have to pay to eat here and it is a la carte. But, you can get drinks at the station here including coffee in the mornings On the other side is the Pizzeria del Capitano
