We are newish to cruising and wanted to give a live report from someone still finding their way.  This will be our second cruise.  Our first was on the Majestic to Alaska in 2021.  That cruise was in the COVIDera where the ship could only be half full.  We expect this one to be much busier.

After reading much in this forum, we ordered our medallions to be mailed to us.  They arrived about two weeks ahead of time.  That made getting on board today a breeze.  We arrived at the port at 10:45, dropped our bags, walked up and waited about a minute in the green lane, checked in and off we went to security.  Security took about 5 minutes and then we were off again to get on the ship.

I want to post photos, but they are all showing black.  Any help for this is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to your first few posts to cruise critic. I’ll be armchair, cruising along with you ,looking forward to your posts. Sorry about the pictures. I have no idea -they should download just fine, but just keep practicing under the choose files or other media button.

It's an Apple device, right?

The resolution is too high. You need to downsize the images, then they will show up normally.

Hello. Hope you have a great cruise. We will be on the Enchanted in December.  How did you get to the port? Car? Fly? Bus? If you drove did you park in the Heron garage? Any info on this would be helpful. Thank you so much for sharing.

Yes, to the iPhone.  What size is the max?

I don't know.

The forum software resizes all uploaded images to max. 1200 pixel, anyway.

We flew in from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale airport yesterday.  Took a taxi to our hotel.  The hotel had a van that took us to the port for $8 a person.  They dropped us off right where the luggage was and then right into the port.  Super easy.

Took me a minute to figure out how to resize.  Here are the photos from arrival.  It appears it took forever, but it really was smooth and no standing around.

We stayed at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale on 17th Street.  Right across the street from the port.  It was an okay stay.  Room had a bit of a mildew smell and sheets had seen better days.  It was convenient this morning, but away from the restaurant.  It fit our budget when we booked.

Once we were on, we knew we needed coffee, so straight to the International Cafe for a mocha and iced latte.  We then checked in at our muster station and found a spot to watch the safety video from the app.  Main screen on the Princess app had the link to the video.  Enjoyed our coffee on the wakeview terrace.

I am following along with your report.  Good to see you have your photo issues figured out.  It is always nice to have photos to go along with the narrative.

I have done a few live reports, and I know the effort that is involved, so thank you for that.

Now, if I can offer a constructive comment.  I always find the photos are much easier to view if there is a space between them.  Not hard to do, just insert photo, hit return twice, then insert the next ones.

Enjoy your cruise.

Thanks for doing this.  I will be following along.  My family and I were supposed to be on this sailing but much to our dismay, a health issue came up and we had to cancel.  Hope to do the Enchanted later this year or early next.

Enjoy you cruise! I was on the Enchanted inaugural cruise back in 2021 and will be on for the second time later this year. It is a beautiful ship and the wake view terrace is one of my favorite spots.

I saw that DuVaul Gamble is the current cruise director. You have to make sure to attend any of the game shows or trivias he hosts, he is so much fun 🤩

I saw that many talked about eating in the main dining room (MDR) for their Embarkation lunch. We enjoyed the food.  My husband is vegetarian and I am most of the time, but will eat seafood (pescatarian).  The MDR wasn’t packed.  For those of you that are new to cruising or Princess, only one of the dining rooms is open for lunch.

Thank you for the tip!  So much to learn on posting.  It really makes me appreciate how much people put into doing this for a career.

We are staying in a balcony room.  Plenty of space for the two of us.

Sailaway was fun- good music, line dancing, and the Love Boat horn.  We watched the Sheriff boat escort and the pilot boat keeping up.  Beautiful day to set sail.

Dinner was in the MDR.  I totally forgot to take pictures of the food.  I did grab the menus!  They have a separate menu for vegans that you need to ask for.  We had the starter- fruit, which was fabulous.  My hubby had the potato salad an soup, which weren’t super flavorful, and then the curry, which had plenty of flavor.
