Anything special being done for Legend post-dry dock reveal?

Recommended Posts

I know last year they had Cristine (sp?) Duffy and Emeril on board for the Pride.  I am wondering if anything similar will happen for the Legend.  Anyone heard? I can check in tonight and trying to decide whether to do an early check in (in the event John Heald or Emeril or someone interesting is there again) or do a later check in and go see a site in the morning before we board.  Last year we did first boarding slot and then they boarded a bit late so we were just sitting there in the port for a bit...actually, it got crowded enough there weren't any more seats so we had to just mill about.  It wasn't terribly long, but if there isn't going to be anyone worth taking a selfie with on board, might as well show up later.

I don't think he was onboard for the Pride dry dock but maybe I'm wrong. Recent drydocks for the Freedom and Glory had no fanfare and to be honest, it would have been a bit much for such little work being done in these dry docks. Just rebranding some venus and some touch ups but nothing really noticble. I would personally show up a bit later because I don't think anyone from Carnival corporate will be there.

Anything exceptional being done for Legend during the current dry dock?

She's getting the exact same treatment Pride got last year.  Most notable was the removal of the lower level of the night club replaced by Chef's Table and some ADA cabins, the retrofit of the sports bar, the replacement of the library with a new retail venue, the removal of the casino bar replacing it with more machines and the addition of a lido big screen similar to what Pride already had.  In the cabins, I believe all balconies had their door/window unit retrofitted. Then there was standard stuff like carpet/paint and maybe some modest cabin upgrades like bedside lighting.

I sailed Pride both shortly before and after dry dock. I thought she cleaned up quite nicely.

Good to hear. I sailed Legend Christmas 2021 and the balconies looked bad, with the doors not closing well. I didn’t make a big deal of it in the live review, but I remember specifically checking it out on Carnival Radiance and was pleased they had obviously put time and effort in as the balconies looked brand new. It had come out of its major sun shining dry dock a few months earlier and looked lovely all around.

You can say goodbye to the hot tub in the gym up front and the card room on deck 2 near the coffee shop which will become Carnival Adventures store. They will probably add a dreams studio in the lobby by the atrium also.

I just went on the Pride in March and she is in good shape now! Nightclub looks good as one level and was done nicely. I took a peek at the Chefs table room below and it is nice.

Let's not go overboard. This is not a Sunshining where north of $200 million and many, many weeks were invested. We did not stay in a Balc but my understanding is that the glass curtain walls/door assembly was replaced on Pride. I've read the same plan for Legend.

And I concur about the overall Sunshining process. I especially like Sunrise and Radiance. Two of my favorite ships.

Yeah the doors will help a lot. They were embarrassing.
