Elation to sail from San Diego year round

Heard it on the Radio this morning, we are getting the Elation here in San Diego, YIPPY !!! Also found out yesterday from the Port Authority that San Diego Port will be expanding to hold even more Cruise ships by next year. With the expansion comes a new Indian Casino on the water front and possibly a new San Diego Charger Football Stadium.

 

I guess the Elation will be my Cruise for Sept. Oct. 2007

RVRGIRL - Yes they are asking us to book on another ship, they have made no plans to replace that particular itinerary as of yet. This is from what my travel agent told me and a Cruise Specialist at Carnival I called them directly to see what they had to say about everything.

 

So I guess as of now....Grand Turks and HMC are off the map for Carnival...that did not last very long....

Ok just got off my phone with my PVP and have booked another cruise out of PC for a day after I was supposed to cruise on the Elation. We are now booked on the Sensation for Oct 14,2007 out of PC....Hope everyone else gets theirs straightened out. Now we will be going on a 4 day instead of a 5 day.. But that is alright. A cruise is a cruise lol....Good Luck everyone

Basing my price on the Elation vs the 4 day facination thee is 150pp price difference.

Hopefully they'll fix the Sensation and put her there. We were scheduled to do that itinerary on the Sensation but they switched ships on us. It was an awesome itinerary. It's much better than going to Freeport.

Carnival has a significant amount of money invested in Grand Turks so I am sure they will maximize that investment.

 

HMC belongs to HAL, maybe they are pulling the plug.

i called and they told me they could give me any 4 or 5 night cruise for the same price as we paid! i asked her about a 6 nighter the departed 1 day eariler that we had our eye on b4 we actually booked this one. she called me back and said yes. so the out come? we are now booked on the Carnival Liberty for 6 nights out of Ft. Lauderdale and upgraded to CAT 4F on lido deck! for the SAME PRICE as our 5 night on Elation for GTY INSIDE. so im thinking its a good deal.newer ship, upgraded to lido deck and an EXTRA night for same price. :D okie just wanted to share that :O :D

That is good news for the West Coast. It looks like Carnival is up in the air as to whether or not to have a replacement ship for Elation in Port Canaveral. I actually liked the ports of call and was going to book the Elation for December 2007. I hope they put another ship at Port Canaveral.

No it wasnt completly paid for! we just booked it last week really lol and paid $800.00 for two cabins as the down payment. we owed and still owe only $600.00 for the two cabins! anyways it was 355.00/pp! GOOD LUCK! what date and ship are u thinking of switching to?

No it was cheaper. But there was 5 in our cabin DH and 3 DS so now we booked 2 cabins instead of 1 and still saved about 400.00. I was still wanting to do HMC but thats not offered as of yet so I just changed things around a bit......

I saw this deal as well, and it would be about the same price for us to upgrade to this exact same cruise. I was thrilled since we would be getting an extra day for the same price! So, when my husband came home from work, I told him all about it. He said he didn't want to do it because he thought a 5 day cruise was long enough!:eek: WHAT??? Who is this man? Of course, I had to explain it again, and slower this time I said we could have an extra day of vacation for the same price. So, he said he'd think about it. Guess that's all I can ask for right now! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
