You mean there's a TV in my cabin??? Never noticed...I guess that's the screen that shows my SeaPass bill. Seriously, I can't remember ever watching TV on a cruise, even if it meant skipping "my" programs. As it is, I watch too much when I'm home and should be doing other things.

I agree with you on that one! Hey, can you do me a favor and contact me asap at community@cruisecritic.com please?

How about trying to enjoy LIFE for one whole week, or better two whole weeks without that boobtube. You might even ween yourself of that stupid addiction, you might actually try and read a BOOK, or take up a new hobby.

You are out on the open ocean, seeing wonderful vistas, and you are worried about what stupid show (which is repeated endlessly on most of those stations mentioned) you might miss? How pathetic.

It is almost as bad as the game room that is on board the ship. It is bad enough seeing teenagers inside that room in the middle of a beautiful day, but is even worse when there is an adult in there at the same time. Of course the most pathetic is seeing adults inside the windowless, clockless casino in the middle of the day.

Check your brain at the door because Big Brother took over. The worst manifestation of this is the giant outdoor screen on some of the new ships which is the most intrusive thing I've ever seen on a cruise.

Oooooooh, what an idea! Gee, ya think? I thought the above was always a given, until I see so many people repeatedly prove me wrong.

At least the casino is something not always available 24/7 at home, but I'm only there in the evening when it's dark outside, plus I definitely make sure to go outside each night to enjoy the night air and sky for quite a bit of time.

I wondered how long it would take someone to post a response in this thread critical of how others choose to spend their vacation time.

A definite vote for Turner Classic Movies.

(Some of us just need to fall asleep with the TV on....plus, it helps when the folks next door (who aren't watching TV) are a bit noisy while they are bonding.)

I voted for the Cartoon Network for DS. We don't have cable at home (to limit tv time), and the cartoons are great for occupying him while I get ready for dinner and such.

I would like Food TV and SPEED for me. As long as there's FNC, DH would be happy.

We have a DVR at home so we can record all our shows & watch them when we get home. However, it would be nice to have the Weather Channel, regular ESPN, and any American news channel. Don't care if it's Fox, CNN, MSNBC. We basically watch TV in the morning when we're getting ready. Too much else to do on the ship!!!

I watch little tv while cruising, but yet do like it to unwind at night. So I would like to have HGTV, Nascar channels (for DH), Sleuth, Travel, AMC, A&E, Weather, and TNT. That way I could always find something that interests me to watch.

I'd like to see "Animal Planet" and the "Travel Channel".

And definitely Fox News AND the Weather Channel! Those would be the most important to me. I like to be able to see news from home.

On a cruise last year through the Panama Canal, Hurricane Wilma was hitting our home. There was virtually no news about it on CNN World and I would have loved to be able to access the Weather Channel.

On this cruise I would love to have ESPN it will be toward the end of the NHL Playoffs and it would be nice to check the standings. Especially for the Detroit Red Wings (I hope they are still in then). GO WINGS!!!! :D

It would be nice to have anyother regular network in the evening, not that I would stay in my cabin but if I felt like turning in early one night it would be nice to have regular shows to turn on. But turning in early usually doesn't happen either. :)

On our princess cruise in Sept they didn't have regular espn - and I was freaking out - I missed my Football game - of course none of the crew understood until I related it to missing their favorite soccer game.
