Have you ever been hustled on a cruise?

When our kids were still cruising with us, our daughter got hit on ALL th time. Once, in the dining room, a young man came to our table and said to her "My brother wanted me to come over and ask how old you are?" Her father growled, "OK, you've asked. Now, get lost."

On the Ocean Princess, a waiter continually "hit" us up for $500. It seems he needed this money, or so claimed, to obtain his visa, etc. We finally got so sick of it that we notified one of the Officers. Upon our arrival at home, we received a nice "coupon" in the mail, to the tune of our entire cruise, to resail with Princess. I was astonished, happy, but also sad that this person was a pain during our dinner hours. He was subsequently kicked off the ship.

My mother took a buxom lively early 20-something caregiver on a cruise this spring on Celebrity Summit. After my mother went to bed, she lit off on her own and reportedly ended up in the crew bar below decks and God knows where else. I guess she returned to her proper quarters around 5 AM ("drunk as a skunk" according to Mum - a tad ticked off) and full of god knows what.

She was fairly proud of her night carrousing, the parts she was willing to relate. But I can't say that she was "hussled" by the crew, I think it was the other way around!

Geez. I feel left out. I'm single and have been on four cruises and the most I got was a bit of extra attention from a crewman assigned to the arcade who had the maturity level of most of the boys using the arcade! ;)

Every time i went to dinner in the dining room our waiter would say to me that I looked "very beautiful" or "very pretty" and wanted to see me later that evening....I'll be going on the same ship in about a week-but I think we'll be eating in a different dining room this time!

I think the staff is extremely aggresive sometimes. My sister and I are (in our early 20's) have always had a bit of a problem with 1 or 2 guys per cruise. Sometims it is just innocent (i think they do it to make we women feel nice on formal nights etc), but othertimes it is outright annoying! I hope they don't do it this time, our BF's are the very overprotective conservative latin boys, and Dad is pretty scary too! Happy Cruising!

*If* I had a daughter I think I would toss some of these rude toads off the ship myslef for some of the remarks I have overheard... I guess there is a reason I have three boys and another one on the way : ) If my boys ever make comments like some of the ones I have heard and read to a woman I think they would spend an uncomfortably long time regretting it... years probably... I think some of the comments overheard are completly disrespectful not only to women but humans in general...

First off I must admit I am a happily married man.
It happened on my last cruise. I went up to the Star Bar on the Dawn. I was sitting at the bar and this absolutely stunning women came into the room. Our eyes locked. I gave a shy smile back and she started over towards me. I could feel my heart start to beat faster. She was wearing this amazing black backless dress. ( a dress my wife would never wear) My hands started to sweat. What do I do? She came over asked if the seat next to me was taken? I said "now it is" as I pulled it out for her. What was I doing? Is this right? She sat down and I asked her if I could buy her a drink and she replied "That's a good start" Wow!! 1/2 way through the drink I had her laughing and then she put her hand on my leg. My eyes dart around to make sure my family was no where to be seen. All so a sudden she grabs my hand and escorts me to the dance floor. (I always fell for a women who knows how to take control) we danced and then I could not believe my ears...she whispered "lets go back to my room" What do I do? Should I? Shouldn't I? Well...I did.....and all I can say is wow!! I never found out her name either. But I can tell you this she comes out every cruise and it is uncanny how much she looks like my wife!!!

Ok so now you know we do a little roll playing!!

  • 2 months later...
I was on the Conquest last January and everything was perfect. My first (and only other) cruise was on the Carnivale when I was 12. I'd gone with my Dad and new step family. My Mom had seen some news special about cruise ship employees assaulting young girls. I was so sick of her warnings and paranoia by the time I left!! So I'm walking down the hall from my cabin one day and there was a man vacuuming. I stepped over the cord and said "excuse me." The guy starts toward me saying "come with me Seniorita!" (sp?) He yelled it like three more times as I was running away.

On a better note-when I was sea sick on the last night, the room steward actually helped me to the ship doctor to get some meds. How nice was that?
