  1. 1. Who chooses your cruise destination?

Women, noted Dan Hanrahan, Celebrity Cruises' president, are the prime decision makers when it comes to choosing a vacation venue. And in creating a panel of women to address female preferences, "we took the 'suggestion box' idea to a whole new level to create a new kind of stateroom."
I'm on the boards every day checking out the best deals for our cruises over the next two years. Does Dan Hanrahan's comment apply in your case or are decisions made jointly?

LOL I booked our upcoming cruise 8 months ago. We leave in 4 weeks (Princess) and DH still keeps asking...........where are we going? What ship are we taking?

As long as he has a date, and knowledge that we'll be out to sea, he leaves the rest to me! I try and tell him about the excursions booked, the accomodations, etc. He doesn't care, just says, "tell me where I have to be and what time."

Gotta love it!

As a general rule, DW will tell me about some special deal that has come to her attention, I'll say, let's book it, she'll say she's not sure and the subject will be dropped....

Every once in awhile instead of saying she's unsure she'll ask if I'm serious (which I am, every time) and from there things tend to move fairly quickly, to booking the cruise.

:) Jane! In 23 years I've been on ONE mini vacation with my dh. It was a 3 night cruise that we did with another couple. No extra days on either end. We flew from Maine to FL on a Friday and returned home on Monday. Like you, if I waited for him I'd never leave the house. So I go without him. LOL

I do the research, choose the destination (for both land and sea vacations), make sure DH is happy with the choice, make necessary compromises (usually few), book the trip, and let him know when he needs to book vacation time. It works great for us.

I'm the vacation planner in our home. I will talk about where to go, or cruise and eventually she'll give in and tell me to go ahead. Rarely, she'll suggest a place to go, but all of the planning, booking and logistics are left up to me.

Happy cruising to all!

I'm always looking for a future cruise:cool: , and my wonderful DH happily goes along with whatever I want to book. Once in a while, I'm torn between two ships/itineraries, and I'll ask him to help decide. His response is always: "whatever you'd like, honey".:D

My DH laughs at me. I'll happily spend $1 a thousand times, but can't bring myself to spend $1,000 a single time.:p I ....ahem....make suggestions. He tells me he's feeling "cruise deprived"/missing Telluride/needs a vaca. I do the research and present him with an idea. The final decision is his - with my "nudging" of course.;)

Happy cruising!

My husband works hard and does not have time to try and find cruises. I am at home so it is my job to find something. I don't book without discussing it with him but he will go almost anywhere I want. We go on two to three cruises a year and he loves to cruise so I have no problems, Pat

These responses are fun.

I'll suggest some type of vacation, and my DH almost always asks "how about a cruise?"

He likes them because he's our BSA scoutmaster and has to do so much much scout trip planning ( got to Be Prepared :D ). He doesn't have to do much planning with a cruise; just go and enjoy.

If I waited for hubby to make vacation arrangements we would never leave the house. Jane

Exactly the same!!

Even though I do all the research, make the bookings, pay for the cruises, book the excursions, book airfare, etc., I do ask his opinions....but he's very agreeable to everything I have ever proposed and loves cruising.

DH booked the first cruise for me and DS, he couldn't go with us.. and really was not into cruising.

Second time around I booked cruise to Europe to lure him into cruising..

He booked next one only 4 month apart...

I booked one more cruise California Castal..

Since then, he's become addicted and does all bookings.. I even beg him not to book so many.:D

the research and figure out the best pricing and then suggest it to DH. Being I used to be a TA he knows that I'll find the best deal as well as the best accomadations for the price :)

The he says I guess we can do that :D

LOL, well I'm not sure....

Here's how it goes here:

ME: We need a break.;)

DH: A cruise?

ME: :D Sure, why not? Where to this time?

DH: How about the Med?

ME: Any particular port you want to go to?

DW: [Gives me his thoughts]

ME: [i do the research and then present the ones I like :D ]

DW: How about this one? [As he points to one of the options]

ME: Not a problem, I'll take care of it.:D
