Or, Norwegian Wood

Here's the logo

2008_small.jpg

I once had a girl, or should i say, she once had me.

She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,

So i looked around and i noticed there wasn't a chair.

I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine.

We talked until two and then she said, "it's time for bed".

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.

I told her i didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath.

And when i awoke i was alone, this bird had flown.

So i lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood.

when is the new ship coming out?

The latest from NCL is early 2010 for the first, and early 2011 for the second.

They will be built at the Aker Yards shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

The next Seatrade Cruise Convention is on 10 - 13 March 2008 in Miami Beach, Florida.

Aker or NCL might release a drawing on what these ships might look like then.

If not, I don't expect we'll see a drawing of them until the Seatrade Cruise Convention in 2009.

Norwegian Fjiord

It's FJORD, not Fjiord.

Actually I was thinking about this before I reached your post!

Since the two new ships are F3 Class, shouldn't their names begin with a F (after Norwegian)?

Or Precious Metal Class? Like Norwegian Silver, Norwegian Gold, Norwegian Bronze (should there be a 3rd F3 ship).

How about the Norweigan Clinton and Bush ...

We could nickname them the ship that blows and the ship that sucks!!!

Or better yet they could both be called "going down with the ship" (Bush's approval rating and well Clinton... enough said!!)

For Clintons ship Monica would be the Godmother, for Bush... well no woman would want to step forward!!!

Also think about the marketing with the cigar room's and the Gas tax... i mean surcharge.

All I know is that I would like to see a unique name, that no other cruise line is using. There are already multiple Libertys, Legends, Freedoms, Spirits...I want to see something new! (Love the names for the new Celebrity ships, Equinox and Solstice...)

I second this. Keep the names unique from other lines. There are only two ships planned for this class so far - there must be a famous duo to name them after... Thinking... Thinking... What about the Spice Class - Salt and Pepper?

I don't care what they call them as long as it has a retractable roof over the swimming pool when they sail out of New York in the winter.

I have seen a picture of the new ship and I thought it looked like a big, boxy container ship. It won't win any nautical beauty contests.

Do you have a link to the picture? I haven't been able to find a picture of the F3 yet.

According to Cruise Travel magazine, the 1st F3 will begin sailing in Jan 2010, followed by the second one in the Fall of 2010. Since Jan 2010 bookings will soon be opening, we should be hearing about these ships very soon. I would have thought we have some information by now, like the picture the other posted mentioned.

Stop naming the gigantic ships female type names, and give them all big strong manly names.

Ex: Brutus, Thor, Atlas, Hercules, Ah-nold.;)

or...mythical sea characters like Ariel or Nessie

I like that idea. :D
