Hi Gary- glad you are having a greattime- gotta love those sandwiches!

I know the room u are assigned to for dinner- I also would be disappointed- maybe u could try again for a change?

I agree with you, the Spirit class ships are the best laid out- am sure sorry the Pride left Port Canaveral. The Glory is a beauty- just prefer Spirit class.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise= ST John's is well worth the ferry ride---

Just pulled out of Tortola. I didn't take any excursions. Walked into town. Nice people, but a true dump (sorry, you Tortola lovers). I did look at some sailboats and catamarans for rent by the week. Maybe a trip in the future to rent a charter boat for a week. Very reasonable when split between 3 or 4 couples.

Sunday in Tortola - everything closed - no internet cafe, etc. so back in the library at Carnival's "elevated" rate.

St Thomas was just too much. Just beautiful. Wish I'd taken the ferry to St Johns. Everybody is raving about it. I now dread dinners. Ran into the mom and daughter bitching team in Tortola. GAWD . . . I hope they never learn about cruise critic. Bitch, bitch, bitch...too hot...too humid (well, DUH, its the caribbean ! ), stubbed her toe on something in the showroom last night, terrible...terrible, jewelers in St Thomas didn't appreciate her . . . didn't let her walk off with $12,000 worth of earrings for $3500 . . . .starting to sound very phoney to me.

To those of you that are traveling on the LEGEND next week, you really must mention me to Nicoletta and Vensa in the outside LIDO bar on the aft of the ship. Spend all my time there now. They are great and a lot of fun.

Almost all agree St Thomas is the best stop. I couldn't get over how clean everything is and how polite the people are. Very frendly. Would consider a land vacation here in the future.

Observation: The Lobby Bar (the one with the atrium) used to always be crowded with scads of people - great meeting place. Now its NON-SMOKING and every time I go through there it is absolutely vacated. I know, now I've started the smoking debate. Just an observation.

Oh well, gotta run. Will try to post later if I haven't used all my minutes yet.

... now if they just had a NON-Smoking casino...:D

I know on the Glory they had 1 or 2 NO-SMOKING signs they moved around to different tables in the casino.... though never at the table I wanted to play at...:(

Does anyone know if they have similar NO-Smoking tables on the Legend???

...this is not intended to fuel a smoking/no-smoking debate !!! LOL

Gary, you may be a candidate for sainthood for putting up with that mother/daughter team! :D

Tom, I looked for no smoking signs in the casino, I'm a smoker and didn't want to offend by being in the wrong area, but I really don't recall seeing any. Maybe I was just in an area where it was permitted all the time. Too bad I didn't leave with more money! :D

Hit the Daughter of the Mother/Daughter team this morning on the Lido deck....She just had to get out of her cabin because the "chemicals in the naugahyde are really disrupting her sinuses". . . . . LOL . . . . .GAWD ! !

I didn't notice any non-smoking machines in the casino, but there may have been some. I don't spend much time there. The Lobby bar is now vacant, in my opinion, because of its NON-SMOKING status. Used to be a bustling place to meet or hang out. Oh well, that's the way it goes.

Will post later if I purchase another package as I'm fresh out of time. Next time will take the 250 minutes for $100 instead of the next lower one.

One more day at sea tomorrow then its off to NYC for a day and then home to Los Angeles. Met people on the ship that live only 35 miles from me up in the high desert in Palmdale ! !. Small world.

Wow, your trip is already almost over. We really enjoyed your up to date reviews on the cruise. A few drama and bad service at the dining area, but overall it seemed like a very good trip. Once again thank you. I bet you are going to miss the mother and daughter duo. :D

Going to formal dinner tonight. (what to hell, I packed the suit  ) Hopefully I'll get out of there with a minimal of "whining".

Beautiful seas today. Kicking butt all night long (24 knots). Looked for the "green flash" at that perfect sunset instant that everybody talks about, but didn't see. Oh well. Something to look forward to.

Going to catch the Monday Night Football game here shortly. Watched the Jets wallop Miami last night in the Sports bar. Rowdy New York crowd, great fun.

The Carnival dancers tonight (they were terrific before) then the "R" rated midnight show. Last one was terrific. :D

Another relaxing day at sea tomorrow and then NYC (the pier situation is madness I thought). Only going to make this run 2 more times, I'm told then a 2 day cruise to NOWHERE, and then off to FLL for the winter cruises.

Gotta run, check back later and tomorrow.

Hi Gary,

Sounds like you are having a great time. I love the Legend! I was wondering if one of the Legend dancers is still there. His name is Greg, dark-haired, very handsome, and he's from New Zealand...........I'm sure that you've noticed the female dancers, but I thought maybe you happened to have seen him around. If not in the shows, maybe when the dancers are selling bingo cards.

Thanks!!!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

A quick question-do you see alot of wheelchairs around? I'm taking my mother next May and she will be using a wheelchair when ever there is much walking.

No, Laura, not a lot, but now and then. Lots of people traveling with an aging Mother or Father. Easy to get around for them I see. If you aren't aware you'll be pleased to know they have "handicap" cabins that are wheelchair designed I'm sure. :)

Yes, love those Carnival dancers. They were fantastic last night. I don't go to the bingo thingies, but will try to find out today (purchased another 100 minutes so I'll have minutes to burn ! ! :D ) So, I'll check on a Greg from New Zealand that is handsome.

Last night's "R" comedian was terrific. Had to deal with a drunk heckler and preceded to destroy him every time the idiot opened his mouth. It was hilarious. Couldn't have programmed it better. (even makes you wonder if it was part of the act . . . . hmmmmmmm :) )

Gotta run to Debarkation talks . . . . [boo, boo, hiss, hiss]

Hoping to self-assist and now have conflicting versions of how its done in NYC ! !

"The weather is here. Wish you were beautiful"........(love that line) :D

Seas getting a little bit rougher now. Ship pitching about some. Noticeably colder this afternoon. Excellent for sleeping on the Lido in the sun, but now that the sun is down, its downright chilly outside. :(

I'll skip formal dinner tonight. Great pizza instead. Am going to try to pack everything tonight so as to rise early and get pics of Lady Liberty. Raining so hard as we left NYC that couldn't get very good pics. Supposed to be sunny and clear in the morning when we go up to Manhattan, so want to get some pics.

Sure wish this was a back-to-back ! ! :D

Gary: I enjoyed reading about your cruise adventures. In January, I'll be sailing on the Legend for the 3rd time. Was very happy to see that the Atrium Bar is now non-smoking so I'll be able to hang out there. It was too smoky for me the other times. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

Sorry, Sarahm

Just learned from Nikoletta and Vesna that Greg is no longer one of the dancers. :(

Sleeping in the sun, cruising by Lady Liberty. Couldn't ask for much more. Oh how I wish I was on a cruise. Thanks for sharing your cruise adventure with us Gary.
Well, Kathy its going to sound just a little bit ridiculous, but this is hard work. :D

I'm beat. Had a terrific 8 days. I really enjoy the sea days and this cruise had 4 of them. I said my good-byes to Nikki and Vesna, exchanged e-mails, took pics with them and promised to e-mail the pics. Great gals ! To those of you following me please be sure and say hello to them for me. They're great.

I'm almost completely packed. Going to self-assist right off this beauty around 9:30 and meet an ole tablemate from the GLORY a year ago. She's going to show me NYC and take me to the airport.

You'll have to give the LEGEND a shot, Kathy. I know you like Spirit-class ships and this is the newest one right now. She's going to Fort Lauderdale after 2 more runs from NYC and will be doing the East and West Caribbean.

Nikki leaves in 5 more weeks. Going back to Hungary for a couple months then going to do at least one more contract. Talking to her tonight its obvious she's getting a little burnt out and is looking ahead to other things in Hungary in the future. Vesna will do her new contract (don't know when) on the Conquest. She's looking forward to that.

I'm about to get the 3 minute warning from Carnival on my minutes so this will be my last live post. Had a great cruise. Interesting ports of call and St Thomas was just unreal. The usual terrific Carnival ships and great Carnival service with few exceptions. Next time I post it'll be from my desk.

"The weather is here. Wish you were beautiful" . . :D

Well, Gary, I sure wish I was working so hard and enjoying it as much as you. I'm at work right now, and your work and mine just don't seem the same. ;)

Most definitely! I hope with time to travel all of the Spirit-class ships along with all the other ships of Carnival!

The newest one is actually the MIRACLE, but the Legend is certainly the nicest, in my book (barring the SPIRIT...never had the pleasure yet).
