What happens the last day of a cruise

Hi Everyone,

I am a first time cruiser and just curious as to what happens on the last day.

 

We are on the triumph and are non us citizens.

You will have surrendered you passports as you embarked. On the last day, non-US citizens will go to Immigration at about 6am (or sometimes thereabouts) to retrieve your passports. You'll then eat breakfast--wait in public rooms to debark. In many cases, that'll be around 9-10am.

 

You can leave earlier if you choose "self-debark" (carrying off your own luggage) or choose a tour thru Carnival of your debarkation city.

"Self-assist" express debarkation is not available to non-US citizens.

Not sure about non-citizens, but JLEG is probably correct about passports, etc.

 

You'll have plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the dining room or at the Lido buffet before debarkation. Room service is also available until 8:30, at least it was on the Holiday.

 

I wish each ship would go though the same process of debarkation. However, sometimes, I've heard announcements that you should return to your cabin after breakfast, and remain there until your 'tag color' is called. Other cruises, I've been directed to a certain area of the ship to wait.

Personally, I eat a yummy breakfast in the dining room and then sulk for the rest of the day. I don't want to get off the ship. DH has to drag me off when our color is called. I honestly don't pay much attention to what's happening that day. I'm living in my "sulking bubble" and feeling terribly sad. Yes, I know this is childish but I don't care.........:p

... well... it is 5:45... time for 1st seating dinner...:(

 

wow, the CASINO is about to open....:( (and I am NOT there :eek: )

I didnt realise i would be getting up so early on the last day. 6:00am to get my passport:eek: I think i'll just go and get it in my pjs and go back to bed. lol

 

Have to say by the sounds of it, it wont be a happy day!

 

As for the drag marks with getting dragged off, I hope it doesnt match those i will have getting on. Although i am very excited I am very nervous as well.

 

Pungo, I hope i will love it so much i will be living in a sulk bubble for day as well. hehehehehe

Hi OzCaz,

we'll be taking our first cruise out of NOLA in Jan. Will be taking our 4 kids with us.

 

It's all so exciting isn't it?!

 

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone can help. I've just been checking out the Carnival website trying to find out info on times for Camp Carnival sessions?

Not having any luck. Can anyone direct me to a place that will have that kind of info?

 

My kids will be in all the age groups except for the teenagers group.

 

Just to clarify about the last day for non-citizens - do we HAVE to collect our passports that early?

Ozcaz (Perth) here. Have you tried the carnival site and looked at camp carnival. Dont know what you may find on there. I too am hoping we all dont have to get up at that hour to get the passports. :mad: Isnt that what hubbies are for. lol Are you doing anything else on your trip to the states?

 

This whole cruise thing is very exciting. Dont now about you but i have never even seen a cruise boat. So whoooo!!! Cant wait for december when we leave aus.

Just popped over to the carnival site. If you go to fun pass (bottom of the page) then go to the bottom of the page again there is a little box that says things to know before you go. There is all types of info there.

 

Camp Carnival is open from 9am to 10:00pm. I think i read somewhere it is closed during dinner. I may be wrong.

Yes, you will have to get up early and report to immigration. If you do not do this they will start announcing your names to report because the ship cannot clear U.S. customs without a full accounting of foreign nationals onboard. Please be considerate of others with early flights and report as requested. I'm sure you will do this, but there seems to be one clown on every cruise who holds things up by not reporting.

Thought I was the only person that did that !!! ..........Plus being depressed since that is the last day of the cruise and the return to the real world ( re: cooking for yourself, making the bed & your own drinks !!)

I love the term foreign nationals... makes us sound so important. Just wanted to know if I can retrieve passports for DW and all six of the DC or do we all have to drag ourselves out of bed very early in the a.m.:eek: to do this for ourselves?
