If you are going to offer a two day visit to the same port don't expect your clients to expect anything less than a night in port. You are only going to set your cruise line up for some grief unless you clearly state in all ad's that the ship is not going to be in port overnight.

I see there is a high precentage who voted to go someplace else for variety. I am curious if anyone who voted for that would post where else it could possibly go and why.......

I have said all along they should have a cruise to Cabo and La Paz......anyone else:confused:

When we do 2 night stays in Maui, the tenders run all night long - of course Hawaii is quite a bit safer than Mexico

We enjoy the ship when we're in Cabo. Our last time we were there, there were four ships in. The town and tender dock must have been a mess. It was beautiful and peaceful on board!

I have to agree with you.. This is getting kinda weird~ LOL!

Cabo/La Paz would be wonderful. Love that port as well and enjoyed a side trip to Todos Santos. I think the 2 day Cabo will be good for awhile, but long term...who knows. The problem will be no late or over night to make it different and Cabo is not that big as to support two days on a continuos basis.

It will be a novelty for a little while.

Do you see people flying across country to spend 2 days in Cabo on a repeat basis..I don't. And locally it will get old. We see how long 2 ships doing the Ensenada/Catalina and Ensenada only runs lastest..

I vote with you. If we could get 1 long day in both ports.

On our Princess cruise in 04 the ship docked overnight in Cozumel because of the hurricane in Florida. It was great being in port that long, but having to tender would really drag down the enjoyment.

I think this 2 day Cabo will work.......waaaay better then Cabo and Ensenada IMO...... It gives people an opportunity to visit San Jose del Cabo where all the nice resorts are also. I don't think any of the shorter cruises on the West Coast are not intended to draw people from cross country. As far as getting old they have been doing 2 ships on the Ensenada, Catalina run for years. Don't forget Royal Caribbean had that route until they pulled out late last year......and now they also will be doing a Cabo run....

They are just going to have to price this cruise right to make it work, otherwise people will opt for the Splendor 7 day which also goes to Cabo.......

Who knows they read this board and if more people mention La Paz it might happen.....

It will be interesting though......

God forbid a cruiseline should act in such as a manner as to GENERATE revenues. Those rascally Capitalists ! !

LOL..I agree.

As far as Cabo...ummm. I don't like it enough (perosnally) to want to dock there twice. Now if we were talking Cozumel, THEN I would be thrilled to death. :)

Fred, They have those cruises into 2010. I am booked Feb. 20. Got a great deal. As far as I know the ship always leaves San Diego on Saturday. I can't wait. I love Cabo and two days is wonderful. I don't mind going out to sea so they can open up the casino. I love casino too.

My point is why sail away if your coming back to the same port tomorrow?

AQside from the fact that they can open the shops and casino, Cabo is one of the most expensive ports they anchor at. If they offer an overnight excursion with a taste of the nightlife and a room to catch a few hours of sleep I'm in!

I do like Puerta Vallarta! We will be back there in 3 weeks:) What did you guys end up doing there?

I'm SO glad you asked :)

We booked a tour through the ship, but I believe you can book this on your own through Vallarta Adventures. It was the VIP sail & snorkel. All inclusive...5 hours on a sailboat with open bar (very well stocked bar for a sail boat I might add) and a nice lunch, served by two very nice looking Mexican men. It was a great day.

I do love Mexico :D

Nice! Last time we were there we stayed at a resort down in Nuevo Vallarta. That is where the nicer beaches and resorts are located. Really pretty down there! We are still not sure what we will be doing this time. We were looking at the zipline excursions, but.....sailboat.....alcohol....and fine looking Mexican men sound muy beuno:D I will be checking that out.

Although the islands of the Caribbean are beautiful. Mexico is still my fav. The best hospitality anywhere......oh and cheap beer too:D

Thanks!

I haven't read through all the posts, but for those who think the ship is leaving to open up the casino and make money is not in the know, no offense of course.

The reason the ship leaves and then comes back the next day is because Mexico does not allow an overnight stay because then you would be required to go through customs and immigrations in Mexico. Most people get away with going to Mexico without a passport, or from other countries without a visa. That is because the cruise passengers are considered "in transit" since they are not staying overnight. So if the ship were to stay overnight, guests would need more documentation. The Bahamas are a lot less strict with this hence why they allow the ships to stay almost 24 hours. But Mexico is much stricter.

So, now you know.

That didn't happen to us when we stayed overnight in Cozumel in 04. The rules may have changed since then.

Only some of the 5day itin are Cabo/Cabo some are Cabo/Ensenada. Make sure you get on the right one. It would be horrible to be 'late' to the ship at Cabo, only to discover that the ship will not come back the next day.

Ploy:confused:Deceptive:confused: LMAO!!! Carnival is not an airlines. If you want to stay overnight in Cabo you have an option to fly;)

Got to remember not a Carnival cruiser. Only cruised Carnival twice. Once in 1999 and 2000.
