Cruiserccl Posted August 27, 2009 #152 Share Posted August 27, 2009 I'm 20 for my Oasis sailing in January so I won't be old enough to drink yet but it will be my first cruise where I'm old enough to use the casino! Odd question but do you think we'll be able to ride the rising tide bar? At maybe daytime or to you think it will be just for guests 21 and older all the time? Parkay Posted August 27, 2009 #153 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Here's some information for you live from our tour of Oasis: --Oasis of the Seas will have the first ever Coach Boutique at sea selling ladies purses! Pretty exciting! --On the Royal Promenade, there is a new Cupcake Cupboard which will sell cupcakes and host baking workshops! Sure this will be popular! --A third store is Candy Beach on the boardwalk. This isn't the first at sea, MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida already have them, but it's still fun! Doesn't Celebrity have the first ever Coach store at sea?

melissa@cruisecritic Posted August 27, 2009 #156 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hi there! I've been on Solstice, and from what I remember they have a lovely store that sells bags (maybe some Coach) but not a Coach boutique! Melissa Doesn't Celebrity have the first ever Coach store at sea? RCCL-thebest Posted August 27, 2009 #164 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hi Carolyn Can you find out somthing for me: When Oasis leaves for Florida, it has to go past Denmark. But as far as I know its to big to fit under The Great Belt bridge, whitch is only 65 Meters high. So can it fit, or will it go next to Copenhagen where the water isn't that deep? I really hope the last, then its just a 10 min ride. :-)

editor@cruisecritic Posted August 27, 2009 Author #166 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hi, Michael. The ship actually can fit under the bridge -- with just a press of a button, the funnel can go all the way down. What I understand from Royal Caribbean is that a special honor will go to a godmother-type person to sail on the ship from the yard in Turku and push the button. If others don't know what we're talking about, the belt bridge goes between Denmark and Denmark and is the only real height limitation between Turku and Miami (or in this case Ft. Lauderdale). I remember cruising under it on Mariner of the Seas, another ship that poses height challenges, and while you couldn't just reach up and touch the bridge it was pretty close.... tcrowe Posted August 27, 2009 #167 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hey, Check it out! The Aerostat platform is gone! Thanks for the photo Carolyn. Where was it taken from? editor@cruisecritic Posted August 27, 2009 Author #168 Share Posted August 27, 2009 It was indeed taken from a corner loft suite (starboard side, didn't get the number!) editor@cruisecritic Posted August 27, 2009 Author #169 Share Posted August 27, 2009 funny that you mention "owner's suite" from what I can tell there's no one OWNER's suite. But if anyone who's a travel agent can set me straight, please do! What I understood today (and mind you between the buzz saws and the thump-thump-thump of construction, and people chattering away and Finnish workers cursing in Finnish -- I know the words, I am married to a Finn -- it was hard to hear everything :). My perception is the Royal Crown Suite is the "owners" but I can check..... Carolyn Carolyn, Thank you so much for the info and pictures up til now... editor@cruisecritic Posted August 27, 2009 Author #172 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Literally, aside from looking at a deck plan (which is accessible to all of us) there's nothing to report. It was bare bones, a construction site. You could feel the spaciousness -- but to imagine it with er, walls, furnishings, etc., well, it wasn't there yet! RCCL-thebest Posted August 27, 2009 #173 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Ok thanx. I guess its a 100 km ride for me to the bridge. But I will take my videocamera with me, so you can see it. I found this clip on youtube where Independence is passing under The Great Belt Bridge. So to all of you that doesn't know about the bridge.
