Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Exactly. That’s why I think you did a good job with your thoughts. Laid it out clearly so people can think about what matters to them.
  2. Lots of good points. Luckily for me, not a single negative you mentioned are things that matter to me. But I like the way you pointed things out in case those are things that matter to people. One thing: Carnival hasn’t done turn down service in many years. That’s not something just on the MG.
  3. Vista class has better Havana areas. Primarily because it’s right off the back as opposed to the side. And the pool is much better. But we still liked the Havana area in the MG/Celebration. Mostly because it was easy to get loungers, quick to get drinks, and didn’t have to fight crowds. But I can understand why people might not think the Havana area in MG/Celebration is worth the cost.
  4. When I submitted my requests last year for this years cruises, I emailed. Maybe that was wrong. But it has been a couple of years since I have gotten the credit and every time, the denial has been because of my casino rate. But if I have been submitting it wrong, that could be an issue.
  5. I get cheap, not usually free, cabins. Like, $100. I try for the credit every time. And I’m denied every time. But it’s an email so I’ll keep trying.
  6. You’ll likely meet in a restaurant or designated area the morning of the first disembarkation along with other B2Bs. Once everyone is off the ship, they will walk you to customs where you will get the picture kiosk again. One time, we didn’t have to get off but all the others we did. Then they walk you back onto the ship and you’re free to do what you want. You could even get off the ship in Miami if you wanted to. No waiting in the terminal, though.
  7. The time I tip extra, because there is always a tip included, is if they are bringing me a drink. Like in the casino. But I’ve never had an issue getting a drink timely at the bars without tipping. Maybe I’m just lucky. Just never had to grease the skids to get quick drinks. If there is a particular server I like, I’ll also tip extra. Usually when I’ve had a few to drink.
  8. My wife doesn’t eat seafood and loves Teppanyaki. There are a couple of shrimp as part of the appetizer but she just gives that to me. Then she gets either the steak or chicken or both in a combo as the entree. Easily the best pay restaurant on Carnival ships for me. We really like the hibachi style in addition to the food. Just a great atmosphere.
  9. I’m guessing it depends on the cabin and location because our last 5-6 cruises, my wife has said the rooms are actually too cold on the lowest setting. Which is shocking to me. And it could be because it’s newer ships (MG, Celebration, Horizon).
  10. They moved you to a different cabin. Was there something wrong with that cabin? What more were you looking for?
  11. Easy access to a great beach. Move on down from margaritaville for less crowd. And leave your ammo at home.
  12. You’re not supposed to on elegant nights but I do almost every other night in the MDR.
  13. So, I mentioned your plan to my wife and she thought it’s an awesome idea you have. Then she brought up that when you go up the escalators to board, it’s possible that the general boarding area may see people? We honestly don’t know if that’s true, because we never really paid attention. But just in case, I’d have your family looking the other way when you are walking to board.
  14. I don’t think it’s visible from general waiting. I think the risk of being seen is before you get to the waiting area. When you get to the port and initially enter the building, there is a priority line. But in that area, everyone can see everyone else. Then once you check in, you’ll take the escalator up to the priority waiting area and then you’ll be safe. So coordinate getting to that point so you don’t see your grandkids. Hope that makes sense.
