Carnival cruise line stock

We are intrigued with a post we just saw of the benefit of owning Carnival Cruise Line stock. If one was to purchase some stock how long would it take to be eligible for the $250 SBC? Would it be possible to process and get benefit for a sailing that is 2 weeks away?

Thanks for any info. My guess is we should have thought about it weeks ago

About two years ago we purchased 100 CCL a couple of weeks before a cruise. We emailed a copy of the broker's confirmation to Seabourn Club and got the credit. Include your booking confirmation number in the email.

We saw a thread about Carnival shareholder credits earlier this month and decided to buy 100 shares of the stock as we have booked 4 cruises in2015 (Seabourn in February, Cunard in August and September, and P & O in August). Since then we have received the $250 credit on Seabourn and the stock has increased significantly in value. It is our understanding that you cannot apply for the credit until you have made the final payment on the cruise. It was very easy to do and we hope that Carnival will extend this credit after their March 2015 stockholders meeting (this has been their practice for many years past).

This has been a very good deal for us as well, on Seabourn and Cunard. It's a little time-consuming faxing the demonstration of stock ownership after making final payment, but the OBC is a big benefit.

We made a jpeg image of the trade confirmation and saved it in the computer. We just attach it to an email to the SB Club every time we travel.

Anyone considering sailing on any of the Carnival lines should certainly consider this nice perk. Be advised that it is considered each year for renewal and could be eliminated as they wish. That said, we have used it 5 times last year plus had a nice dividend yield and then there is the price appreciation that happened in the last half of '14. I really hope they keep renewing this valuable perk. One last consideration, the OBC is not considered dividend income. It is considered the same as any other OBC. One of the rare "freebies" tax wise.:D

How does Carnival stock ownership play with say AmEx OBC or TA given OBC, or SB OBC?
