Rare RCCL Fan Posted July 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Looking at booking at cruise with some friends.... They husband and wife and their 3 kids. first time cruisers. RCI's website says you can't have more the 4 people in a stateroom which I know is the usual norm in all the normal rooms. But.... aren't there some family staterooms that accommodate more people?? We're looking on Oasis class and/or Freedom specifically.
Rare RCCL Fan Posted July 28, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Correction --- the error i'm getting is the total number of "guests" per reservation may not exceed four.
Sam.Seattle Posted July 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Call and talk to an agent about booking a Royal Family Suite. That should work for you.

NEPhillyRN Posted July 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2015 call about the Royal Family suite. We booked it last year and it was amazing. We were looking at 2 ocean view rooms and the suite, surprisingly ended up being cheaper for us.
spookwife Posted July 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2015 you may not book online for more than 4 . you can only book via a TA or by calling directly.
Thelongos Posted July 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2015 We had to call to get them to book us and our three kids, 5 total, they have to place you in special rooms that have fold out beds and pull outs etc... Cruise a holic Posted July 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) Looking at booking at cruise with some friends.... I booked the Foward Facing Family Stateroom for my son,dtr in law and their three children on the Allure for this coming New Years . You can book only by calling. This cabin is suitable for 5 or 6. If you want to pay a little more, you can book the same stateroom with a balcony. It looks really nice and is a good value. It has a small alcove room with bunk beds and lots of storage and in addition to the queen sized bed, a sleeper couch. If you want to pay significantly more, try the Royal suites. The downside is you must book the Family Fowardward facing staterooms well in advance as only a few are on each ship. One year, we also booked Central park view staterooms, connecting for the kids and their parents. It was also a great value. Enjoy your cruise. Back2reality Posted July 29, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Try the Aqua theater suite. I think it holds up to 8 people.
CruiseDancer Posted July 29, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 29, 2015 We are a family of 5 and have done the forward facing family oceanview on the Explorer, but I understand it is very similar on the larger ships. I loved it, as it had doors to close off the bunk room and the main bedroom from the primary living area, giving some privacy. We leave tomorrow, staying in the family promenade on the Liberty. Grandma Dazzles Posted July 29, 2015 #12 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Depending on how much you want to spend, you may find two staterooms cheaper than one suite. It's a question of numbers.......do a trial booking for two rooms versus a suite......or have your TA or RC price it out for you.
LibertyCruiser Posted July 29, 2015 #13 Share Posted July 29, 2015 For Freedom check out Family Oceanview's 8200 and 8500. They are different then the other Oceanview's. Huge cabins with 3 separate rooms. Suite layout without the suite prices. LC
stephL Posted July 30, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 30, 2015 We have a family of 5 and did the owners suite, we have also done two balconies, or we have had the family suite.
Cruise a holic Posted July 30, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 30, 2015 We have a family of 5 and did the owners suite, we have also done two balconies, or we have had the family suite. Do either have two bathrooms? If not isn't two balcony cabins work better for a family of five?

rodenboy Posted July 31, 2015 #18 Share Posted July 31, 2015 I actually did the interior family stateroom for one of my cruises (holds up to six!) I didn't have a problem with it but other members of my party did. I guess it depends on your tastes!
cindivan Posted August 1, 2015 #19 Share Posted August 1, 2015 It can also depend what is available on the ship and date to which you are considering. We are a family of 5 and we preferred 2 connecting staterooms when the kids were younger to get the two bathrooms and still have access to them. And in our experience it was usually less money than a suite. But it all depends on availability.
