Aruba - walking distance

What is available in the afternoon for Aruba? Preferably in walking distance from the port?

My 1st time to Aruba, I was staying at the Renaissance Hotel, 5th floor, when I saw a cruise ship looming outside the window! Seemed so close, I later saw the cruise dock was just a few hundred yards away.

There is shopping and several restaurants in the complex outside the dock/hotel, and also a small movie house. You can walk to a taxi area and get a cab to one of the nearby beaches, Eagle or Palm.

Its short walk to the downtown area. Shopping and restraunts.

The downtown area is only a couple of blocks from where you'll be docked. :)

All the downtown shopping is within walking distance of the port. You can also get day passes to the Renaissance Island. I'm not sure if you can arrange that ahead of time or if you have to go to the front desk.

Beach can be walked to but would say it is about two miles. Easier to take island bus.

Shopping and gambling is right across from where you dock.

Downtown is a short walk. Several casinos and shopping.

Lots of shops, restaurants within a few minute walk of the terminal.

Do a search here in the forum on Reflextions beach or Surfside beach. It is about a mile and an easy walk along the new linear park which extends southward from downtown Oranjestad towards the airport.
