Oasis Coastal Kitchen Online Reservations

Recommended Posts

My wife and I have booked a Crown Loft Suite on the 2/28/2015 Oasis cruise but Coastal Kitchen does not show up as a dining option in the Cruise Planner. Therefore, I called C&A but the C&A rep who answered said that Coastal Kitchen will not open on the Oasis until dynamic dining is added to the Oasis. Since other posts on this board make it clear that Coastal Kitchen is already open on the Oasis, I assume that the C&A rep must have the wrong information. Has anyone been successful in making Coastal Kitchen dinner reservations through Cruise Planner?

I think the C&A rep may be confused about the booking for Coastal not being available until DD opens.

However as CK is limited to a small number of guests, I wouldn't worry about a reservation.

Stop by on the way to your cabin and make your resi. Be sure to go the second formal night as they serve lobster even though its not on the menu. They can also make a resi for you in any of the other SR's.

Its open and very good:)

Glad I searched and found this thread before starting a new one. Are reservations necessary? Last few cruises have been with NCL in Haven suites and we simply walked up when ready to dine - never waited more than a minute. Now we have a few CL suites on Oasis Feb 28, and I'm curious - if reservations (esp. for dinner) are necessary or warranted, why this option isn't given for suite guests via RCL's online system...

Why is a question that one cannot ask when it comes to RCCL right now. They are far too concerned with fixing their dynamic dining problems on Quantum to worry about having reservations on line for the new Coastal Kitchen on Oasis. From what I have read this is the least of their IT problems. I was also told by reps that Coastal Kitchen was not open. Trust the people who have recently cruised for your info. I will go there for lunch on embarkation day and make reservations then. I understand that the non existent restaurant is open for Suite guests for lunch that day.

They did not have lunch on embarcation day.

The rest of the time you did not need reservation, just show up.

Probably depends on the particular cruise & how many people want to dine there. Althought they bent over backwards to try & please...we prefer to dine in the main dining room at a large table with other cruise guest & will do so on our next cruise.

They do not have shared table seating there.

The Coastal kitchen is not a dinning option... It is available to all suite guest, Grand Suite and above. OCAV and I have gone round and round on Dynamic dining (on that forum). He was supposed to have sailed the Quantum, a couple of weeks ago and he was all for D/D (without ever sailing upon her) as a steerage class pax, which would workout well for steerage class pax, but, I being Diamond Plus and also sailing in a Crown Loft (1712) on 2/21/15 is afford a little comfort zone that he is not aware of. Actually the Oasis was slated to have D/D implemented on 3/15 - D/D was such a disaster that it was pushed out to late 2015. I have had my table reserved in the Captains area, table 152 for two weeks now, that means that I do not have to make any reservations at anytime for any place, including the Coastal Kitchen. To answer your question directly, yes the Coastal Kitchen is open for business. The only draw back that I have heard from LadyAriadne, also sailing on 2/21, is that the suite lounge is not serving drinks from 11 am to 11pm. more likely 5:00 till? I will not be responding in time for you to know the true answer, because, I will be enjoying myself too much onboard and I am not getting any where near a computer while doing so. But, none the less, RCI does take care of their suite guest. (from what I have heard C/L get personally escorted to their suites, just like someone sailing in a R/S) I will wave bye as we pass, me going you arriving - enjoy all! :)

Concierge emailed us and told us that reservations are needed for dinner. So that's not the case? We can just decide to do Coastal one night?

Your statement is too terse. Elaborate... what type of suite are you sailing in? Which dinning venue are you referring to? I have not done the Coastal Kitchen yet, I have read, that basically you just show up, maybe, since then it has become much more popular and now one may have to make a nightly reservation. I would e-mail the concierge back and ask specific questions

Sailed 01-10-2015 on the Oasis.

Once on board the Concierge can make your Coastal Kitchen dinner reservations. We ate there 3 times and made our reservations 2 days in advance.

Junior Suites can also request a reservation if space is available.

During our cruise complimentary beverages were only served during dinner. This will be changed to complimentary beverages being served during the lunch hours, along with complimentary drinks as usual from 5:00 to 8:30.

Also the 0.00 bill that was received after your dinner meal is to be eliminated.

I think it usually about two weeks before. Sometimes we receive an email, and sometimes not. I have emailed the Oasis concierge already about a cabana for our March 14 sailing and he has been quick to reply. It would not hurt to go ahead and email him if you have any questions or requests. He did confirm that Coastal Kitchen reservations are made onboard.

We had the concierge switch two of our three MTD reservations to Coastal Kitchen and it wasn't a problem.

Our week was the second week the restaurant was open, and the first week they were open for breakfast and lunch (started mid-week). All the food was very good.

I keep hearing that people booked in suites have received an email from the concierge. Does anyone know how far in advance does this happen, as I sail on February 28 and have not heard anything yet.

We usually get an e-mail about a week before we sail. I think the Oasis was a little earlier than that, but still less than 2 weeks.

It was pretty concise and all necessary information was there.

Thank you to everyone else that posted. Lots of helpful information. Guess we will go see concierge when we board to get some reservations locked in :).

They have a hostess there that can make your reservation, in fact she can fix you up in all the SR's. Don't need the concierge.

Could you explain what is the Captains area ? How did you know your table number already ? Just curious as I never heard of this before.

Oasis has 2 Concierges. Not sure if 01 or 02 is the email for the Suites Lounge. There's an underscore between OA and concierge

OA_concierge01@rccl.com or OA_concierge02@rccl.com

Here is a link to a spreadsheet that another CC member maintains listing the concierge contact info for all the RCCL ships along with the amenities offered in the lounges (in the other spreadsheet tabs).
