Any Recent Cruisers on the Magic?

Sailed Magic Oct 2016, through all the hurricane issues on whether we would cruise or not, long lines, and we missed Amber Cove because of the late departure. Through all of that I still had a fantastic time and won over $700 in the casino. Carnival just posted a special offer for me on their site and I'm booked again for the Liberty in Oct 2017, Don't worry, the Magic is a fun cruise and if Dr. E (cruise director) is still assigned to this ship, you will be in for a real treat.

We just did a B2B February 25th and March 4th and we had the best time ever! There were some things I noticed about cleanliness but I didn't let them bother me. There was a used q-tip on the floor in the forward stairway on day 4 that was still there during our second cruise. My husband even pointed it out to me and I laughed since I had noticed it too. I walked by an ice cream machine and someone (probably a kid) had left the lever pulled down so ice cream was just pouring out onto the floor. I quickly pulled the lever up and when I walked by later the pile of ice cream was melted all over the floor. The sewage smell is real but I never smelled it indoors and only smelled it a few days on our second leg. Deck 11 aft and up by the ropes course is where I found it the worst. I even asked the guys running the ropes course about it and they didn't know what is was but agreed it was pretty terrible. But after all these examples, I can tell you we can't wait to book the Magic again. FYI we had staterooms 11264 and 10282. If anyone has any questions specific to those rooms.

My wife and I loved the Magic, March 11-18th. Almost 2 days on the boat before we even walked by the Lido buffet. FTTF is well worth the cost. 20 minutes total, unloading car/Sail and Sign card and waiting to board the boat. The boat never seemed to be overcrowded or dirty. We did notice the slight smell at times in the hallway, Deck 1. It was only 2 or 3 times total and not too bad. Room 1448 is huge and very quiet compared to other rooms we've had before. This room is at the very back of the boat. All the slamming doors and late night noise is always louder near the middle of the boat! We've already booked the same cruise for next year!

I'm so glad to hear that about 1448. We have that room booked in September and I have been a little bit worried about the noise from the stairs and back of the boat!

I was just talking to a couple who took a 7 day cruise on Magic, back in Feb. They didn't have a lot of positive things to say about the trip.

This was their 9th cruise, so they are not newbies. They said the ship had an overall feel of being dirty. The ice cream machines were out of order, most of cruise. When they were working, they were splattered all over with melted ice cream, and broken cones lying all around.

They also said that lido ran out of coffee. What?? I have been on 32 cruises, and not one of them ever ran out of coffe

I am booked to sail on Magic the end of Sept. My 1st cruise on this class of ship, and was kind of looking forward to it. Please tell me their cruise was just a fluke, and not the norm for Magic.:(

I don't know what these other people are talking about, because we just finished a cruise on the Magic and it was the worst!

Thanks for all the reviews. We are sailing on the Magic in 2 weeks! We have been on many other ships, but this will be our first time on the Magic. We will be in a spa cabin. Can't wait!

We're gonna be on during the same time next year. How was the weather in port and in this cruise? Was it eastern or western?

Thanks!

Just got off the Magic. New favorite ship! Food was AWESOME, entertainment was AWESOME, had the best time! Crew was great, never saw the ice cream machines out of order. Alchemy bartenders were the best! No complaints. Had room 10273- balcony on lido. Some delay in boarding (fog at the port) but otherwise perfect cruise [emoji4]

I will be in room 10271 in February. What can you tell me about that location. Noise? busy halls?? Where is the self laundry on that hall?

I sailed her late last year and never smelled sewage odor. Food was fair. Ice cream machine area not bussed as it should have been. Unlike many other ships there was a guy cleaning up the smoking area all the time. I have seen flies in Lido while at sea. Great room steward. Dr. E did a great Motown trivia which turned into a wild sing along.

Went again in April and the smoking area was barely bused at all. 2 workers would polish the recycle bin over and over but not pick up an ashtray.

On the last sea day at 7:30 am 2 women put blue towels on EVERY chair in smoking area. I moved one and sat down. About 5 minutes later they took about 7 towels and moved farther down. By 8:30 am there was still no one there but me. A crew member put stickers on 2 loungers on Lido where almost all the chairs had towels and no one in them. He came back 40 minutes later and took the stickers!
