Shorts

Yes you will be fine in shorts in either area. The evenings dress code of Smart Casual or Formal only applies to the Main Dining Rooms, though you are requested to wear Smart Casual all nights at the specialty restaurants (Sabatini's or Crown Grill). On Princess Smart Casual does specify no shorts, but again the casual dining alternatives such as Alfredo's are all come-as-you-are.

For the reasons you are describing we also eat dinner at the Horizon Court or Alfredos several times each cruise. Also, there are evenings we don't feel like having a long dinner and to serve ourselves, and to not have to worry about waiting for a table if we want to eat at 6:30 or 7. Shorts will be just fine!!

Thanks for your responses. Sometimes after a day of touring or a day at the beach,

we do not want a sit down dinner nor do we

we want to dress up. All we want is an informal quick dinner.

We noticed that the restaurants were very quiet on Port days, waiter and Head Waiter said that's the norm now.

Also at the International Cafe if your ship has one. Easy to order a quick sandwich or salad and eat in the atrium or back in your cabin.

Interesting comment and I have started sensing the same thing. Pax are tired and don't want to dress up for dinner. Therefore the HC is somewhat crowded.
