Vic The Parrot Posted August 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2004 Speaking of those yummy cucumber sandwiches, are they still offered on the room service menu? I can't stop thinking about them now! LOL :-D

Krazy Kruizers Posted August 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2004 :) Cucumber sandwiches - reminds me of the Agatha Christie days. Think they are too sour (IMHO). :)

HeatherInFlorida Posted August 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2004 Do they cut off the crusts?? :D ;) .....of the cucumbers? ...or the bread???:D Personally, I absolutely LOVE cucumber sandwiches ... with or without the crusts, but definitely without the peel. RevNeal Posted August 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2004 Heather ... hehehe. The Bread, of course! I'll eat 'em ... but they'll need to add peanut butter. :D
jazzsea Posted August 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2004 They are still on the menu. Reminds me of my 94 year old mother. She likes cucumber and cold green bean sandwiches. Bread crusts on or off. Usually off when she has them for tea. Not one of my favorites, though.
Navy_Chief Posted August 12, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2004 I'll eat 'em ... but they'll need to add peanut butter. :D LoL Rev, You thinking about pushing the Reeces people out of the market?:D
HeatherInFlorida Posted August 12, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2004 Heather ... hehehe. The Bread, of course! I'll eat 'em ... but they'll need to add peanut butter. :D :D I know you're kidding, Rev, but believe it or not I know people who absolutely love cucumber w/peanut butter sandwiches. It's good because the peanut butter keeps the cucumbers from sliding out of the bread the way they do with mayo. As for me, I like mine virgin with mayo and lots of salt & pepper. My mouth waters with the thought!!

elmorejj Posted August 12, 2004 #14 Share Posted August 12, 2004 Well, as an ex-pat Brit, I grew up eating cucumber sandwiches and we didn`t have to wait for a tea party! it was a matter of economics! A cuke sarnie, or a tomato sarie is right up my street!  Vic, are you British by any chance?

What, no scrapple sandwiches or cheesesteaks or hoagies? You probably didn't have any Schmidt's either. :D Seriously, it sounds like you hosted a very elegant tea. :)
