Neptune Suites Nieuw Amsterdam

I would not know about larger balconies on aft. We personally would not choose an aft balcony due to propeller noise, walking distance to other locations and also ship movement which seem to be stronger. But other people seem to prefer aft balconies.

I sometimes look on youtube to see if there any videos of particular cabins or locations. :)

The balconies with Neptune Suites are very large anyway. :)

Which Neptune suite on Nieuw Amsterdam would you choose and why? Thanks for your suggestions, and any other experiences with these cabins that you can share.

The only suite we regretted was the one next to the mid-ship elevator. Didn't like the constant stream of "visitors" to our sunning or dining. Others have said they didn't mind it so YMMV.

I would not get one next to the outside mid ship elevator , Everyone looks in to your balcony. Some have said they don't mind , but I do.

Can someone please help me understand so I can avoid booking this type of Neptune suite? I checked through Google but can't find any pictures. Thanks!

Have you looked for pics on HALFacts.com? Any of the 6 Vista or Signature ships should give you a good idea.

The point is that the mid-ship glass elevators stick out from the side of the ship a little. When they go by, or stop at, a deck with a balcony, people on the elevator can look over to see at least a portion of the first balcony on each side.

Some people don't mind the loss of total privacy; others do.

We have booked 7033 and 7037. Will the balconies have lounge chairs and if not can we ask for some. Thanks for your help

Yes, they will have lounge chairs and I believe a table with two chairs. To confirm this go on Halfacts.com and look at any of the Niew Amsterdam pictures of Suites of numbers close to yours. They will show the balconies on most all of the suites.

There is always a chance that your balcony furniture has been changed but I am sure they will get the furniture that you require if possible.

I have just looked on Halfacts.com,and suite 7033 is on this site. There are two loungers and a small round side table and two chairs as well as a table which looks like two or four chairs which you would dine at on your balcony.

We were in 7048, across the hall from the Neptune Lounge, but the doors were off-set so we didn't hear folks coming and going at all. The balcony had a small round table with 4 chairs, 2 lounge chairs and 2 ottomans. there was room for more if we needed, but there were only 2 of us, so it wasn't required.

Smooth Sailing ! :) :) :)

Currently in aft-wrap Neptune Suite 5187 for two weeks on the NA. My verandah would hold 30 fellow passengers with lots of furniture. Pictures of the cabin as well as the NA will be available in a few weeks after we get back home.

We book far enough in advance to grab one of the very popular aft wraps.

Pros:

Very little foot traffic

2-minuted elevator ride to MDR or Lido

270 degrees of photographic opportunity

2-minute elevator ride from the Room Service kitchen

Very little wind so you can be outside in almost any weather

NA has internet repeaters in the ceiling so decent internet connection

Slightly smaller interior than SA near Neptune

Gentle vibration is great for sleeping

Cons:

Long walk to the Neptune Suite if you want to hang out there.

Please ask any questions and while I am still aboard, I will answer for you.

We have been in Neptune Suites on NA twice -7057 I believe it was.

This is a HC stateroom, which is next to the glass elevator. HALfacts.com has a photo.

I didn't find it intrusive.

Thanks for posting the name of the ship and room number. I spent a loooong time trying to find it at HALfacts but didn't see it.

It's a good thing the picture with the glass elevator is labeled. I would have missed noticing the elevator in the picture.

The mid ship Neptune Suites have rattan chairs with footstool. The do not (customarily) have lounge chairs.

Just returned from N.A. and wraparound suite opposite of Crew News. We figure we spend most of the trip at the Lido and Dining Room. This time we visited the Tamarind once for lunch and twice for dinner. Easy to get to these facilities from the Aft.

We had so much closet space, two sinks and tub with shower and small shower stall in bathroom. This was enough room for the two of us for sure. Our biggest walk was to Trivia in Crows Nest. Dropped into the Neptune lounge a few times for munchies and coffee but didn't linger as sofas were too low to the floor. We had two loungers, two rattan chairs with footrests and a eating table with 4 chairs. They are light weight enough to move the around.

Did not feel vibrations. Very quiet except for Joanie"s constant parties on the other end. :D And our room steward was the best!!

On HAL website, please do not forget that each ship is provided with deck plans, offering all cabins with numbers. You than should call/contact their call centre and with a printed copy of the floorplan, you can allocate your favourite looking at the cabin numbers.

We have been three times at NA and all cruises on Neptune suites. Once we stayed at a suite along the lounge and the other two at the aft wrap: suite 7131. There is a movie from this suite on youtube and photos on Halfacts dot com. If you enjoy peace and quiet, this is the suite you want to be in: hardly any neighbours and your balcony is very large and you can move around to enjoy the sun or away from the wind. Sound of propellor is very little and movement is slight (nice to fall asleep to).

DH and I had Neptune Suite 7040, port side. We loved it and the location. It was between the mid and forward elevators, but closer to the forward ones. Perfect for us because we were in the casino whenever it was open, being on the VIP Casino Cruise and it was right off the forward elevators. Also loved it because the Neptune Lounge was just down the hall, so very convenient. We ate most of our meals in our suite, so for dinner it was nice to check off on the main dining room menu what we wanted for dinner and then took it down to the concierge in the Lounge who ordered it for us. Very quiet location, too. Just thought it was great all the way around.

Glad you enjoyed your Neptune Suite.

How was the cruise?

The cruise was nice - after 33 cruises, we have been most everywhere in the Caribbean, so I didn't even get off. DH did, but I preferred to sit on our balcony and read. Service was impeccable and the ship was in great shape. We ate at the Tamarind one night and DH really enjoyed it, but I didn't like it at all (not a fan of Asian food. period), so should have known better, but he really wanted to try it after all the good reviews. Other than that, the food was very good for the most part, although the lobster thermidor was very mushy and inedible. Steaks always delicious. I was part of the VIP Casino Cruise, so spent lots of time in the casino (DH and I had free drinks all week in the casino, so a nice perk). Casino was very small for the size of the ship and it was packed every night. All in all, a lovely cruise on the NA and would definitely sail on her again.
