New Ship Names?

I don't know if this has been posted before, but Royal Caribbean has patented many new ship names.

Anthem of the Seas

Ovation

Passion

Pulse

Quantum

Vantage

Love Anthem. Passion & Pulse sound cheesy. Or skeevy.

Well, how many sunshine class ships have they ordered? Three? They may want to go for "triplet" names, as they did with Freedom, Liberty & Independence.

I had two other names in mind, but decided that I didn't want to get smacked again. ;)

Hmmm I like Anthem and Ovation... But the other 4...not so much. And LOL at the previous posters "triplet names".

The only one I like there is Vantage of the Seas. The others don't really work for me. Personally I wanted there to be an Illumination of the Seas, but I guess it is Royal's choice what they call the ship.

They also have Traveler and Journey :)

They were probably for the Voyager Class.

These aren't registered, just my ideas. If there's threes and it's the sunshine class....

Sunlight of the Seas, Moonlight of the Seas and Starlight of the Seas or

Sunshine of the Seas, Moonshine (not what it sound like ) of the Seas and Starshine of the Seas.

Slogans could be.... Having fun under the Sun, Romancing under the Moon, and Enjoying the Beauty under the Stars.....

Didn't RCCL have a contest for one of the ships?

why is there 6 names? I thought there was 2/3 "sunshine" ships and 1 possible Oasis class.

ovation is a hair cell product and also ovation is too close to ovulation.

Quantum reminds me of physics

Anthem is good, but would have been better had they built another Freedom class ship to group that with similar names.

Pulse and Passion just don't do it for me.

I think they need to go back to the drawing board, or do a contest taking names. Yeah, do a contest with a free trip for two onboard when it reaches Port Everglades. Perfect.:eek:

Of the OP's list I like Ovation best.

I love Illumination of the Seas as well. Fits the "sunshine" theme perfectly. I like Ovation as well, but I'm not a fan of the other names. If they are serious about Ovation of the Seas why not Encore of the Seas?

I agree that Quantum reminds me of physics and Vantage reminds me of Vontage, the phone company. Such strange names for ships.

They ran out of the good names a long time ago.

The last 4 are just bad. Independence, Liberty, Allure, Oasis.

It's time to start re-hashing the names like Hal does.

Sovereign, Majesty are the best. Then Monarch, Majesty as they go...

Quantum reminds me of 007 but has a nice ring to it when adding "of the seas" to the end!

Of course, it would help if RC would just let us know anything about these new ships that they expect to be unveiling in the next few years. My memory isn't what it once was (whose is? ;)) -- but, I seem to recall RC dropping LOTS of "hints", in advance of the release of their two "Genesis Class" ships! :rolleyes:
