7 day Comp Cruise offer...What to expect?

Just got a call from a NCL Casino at Sea guy, who offered me a "comped" cruise (7 days from anywhere,for up to 2). Just got off my first cruise 8 days ago so call me surprised. I know I "frequented" the casino often :o (Breakaway), but most casinos in Vegas take several months before they offer you something.

Exactly what should I expect to pay, besides taxes and fees, on a comped cruise? I've been told that it will be a "Balcony room" unless its a holiday.The wife is excited. NCL may replace LAS (as in Las Vegas). I gotta get around to posting a review soon!;)

Pretty cool offer that you are getting a balcony. I always thought you were only given an interior room unless you paid to upgrade. Pick a good one and let us know what you decide!

You will receive the cruise for two and drink cards for you and your wife that are good for free drinks in the casino. if you accumulated at least 5000 points with CAS then you will also be entitled to dinner for two at a specialty restaurant of your choice which will include a bottle of wine. There will likely also be a separate priority embarkation line upon checkin.

You will be responsible for taxes, port charges and fees. This amount can vary by cruise but it seems as if $300 pp is an average amount. You will also be responsible for the $12 DSC pp.

I usually cruise other lines for their longer itineraries but CAS has me coming back again and again with their great casino benefit, so I can completely understand your thinking about moving from LV to NCL. ;)

Thanks. You hit it right on board! I earned 5,300 pts and on Sat they did offer me dinner (but it was already paid for with UDP at Ocean Blue). So they sent a bottle of wine to the table (Moscato is what my wife requested.)

We were Haven, so the priority check in is a nice perk! (if that's included)!!

The room they offer has a lot to do with your previous play, length of cruise, date of your cruise and how full the ship is when you decide to book.

I always get a mini-suite or better on all my cruises I've taken up to 14 days except on my 28 day B2B cruise through the Panama Canal - that was a balcony. One can always upgrade if they want.

As to room type - some people get full suites. They of course donate much more.

Even if comped, you will be entitled to the new promo since you will have at least a balcony. Can't beat the deal!

I won $12000.00 on a dollar slot on the breakaway last year and got a call shortly thereafter. I could never be based on what I played because it was on my first $20.00 the second night. I never went back. Maybe they just made a mistake.

There's just something about a "free cruise" that just really makes it for me. Of course, I know it is not really free.

But I disagree with those that say that you could get a cruise cheaper by just waiting till the last minute.

We mostly just take the inside room so our cost is generally around $600 in taxes/fees. I haven't found a cruise for 2 that is less than that once you add the regular taxes, etc. It may come close but you are at the mercy of that particular cruise.

I'll gamble whether it is free or not so I do not take that into account. We are also platinum so get those perks as well as the CAS gold perks.

NCL keeps me loyal because of these things and we truly love their ships.

Since NCL has partnered with Caesar's/Harrahs , my friend and I have taken advantage of their " free" cruises. We sail on the Jewel in the upgraded balcony cabin, all taxes and port fees, cancellation coverage and tips for $648.00 pp. in another week. There is no crossover between them and CAS as far as I can tell, except for the fact you can get a decent cruise price with either. As I am a blackjack player, I can get the benefit of the cruise without playing $100 a hand that seems to be necessary with CAS. We are both Diamond level with Harrahs.
